June 2018 LPGA Women Who Play DC E-Blast
Dear LPGA Women Who Play DC Members,
This should be the last E-blast where we are known as the LPGA Women Who Play DC Chapter. If you think this process of ownership and management changes from EWGA to LPGA feels a bit schizophrenic, you're not alone. As of Monday June 25, we have a new-new name:
LPGA Amateur Golf Association. After overwhelming negative feedback on our previous name (LPGA Women Who Play), the foundation went through another process of re-branding and here we are now. Love it or hate it, it has been a (long) process, but let's hope that changes and visions they have for the Association go more smoothly going forward.
On a much more upbeat note: June is Women's Golf Month! We celebrated first on June 5 at East Potomac with GolfDC and then on June 13 at Laurel Hills with Fairfax County. Big thank you to Kim Thomas of GolfDC and Roberta Korzen from Fairfax County who organized these amazing events. Both events had great attendance and were just plain fun. And, of course, the biggest thanks to everyone who showed up and contributed to inviting more women into the sport.
Talking about big and great events: Our Cha Cha tournament is July 7 at Musket Ridge. Hope you signed up since the registration closed on June 20. Looking forward to seeing everyone who will be there.
Then we have Play for P.I.N.K. in August. Don't forget to sign up, it always feels good to golf for a good cause.
If you have any questions on our new brand and changes please let me know. We will be updating our DC members on anything new coming from headquarters. In the meantime will be happy to answer any questions that come up.
Enjoy the weather, golf often, and have fun!

The cost to sponsor a hole is $100. This price encompasses the sign with the donor's name, your company logo or a message, and five 50/50 raffle tickets if playing in the golf tournament. The raffle tickets will be provided upon check-in on the day of the golf tournament.
To register, go to the LPGAWWP website (
) and follow the following instructions:

Upon selecting the Registration button, you will need to provide your name, the hole number you would like your sign placed upon, and the "In Honor of" or "In Memory of" name. Be sure you have spelled all information correctly. You can view all 18 holes of the golf course on the Westfields Golf Club website (
) under Scorecard, or under Photo Gallery. If you do not specify a hole, the Event Captain will determine a hole placement on your behalf. If you want your company's logo placed on the sign, you will need to reach out to the Event Captain separately with your logo image. If you want to have a message versus a name on your sign, you may enter a short phrase into the "In Honor of" text box. A sample of the sign is shown on the registration page.
