Video of the Month

Are you looking for ways to provide your students with more responsibility while also simultaneously teaching them useful lifestyle skills?
The  "Real World Learning: Running a Business at a School" video by  Edutopia shows that there are many ways to engage students within the classroom, school, and school community and provide them with innovative, fun, and unique learning opportunities.
Students at  Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School: A String Theory School in  Philadelphia, PA, work in a café on the school campus as part of their business class. This learning opportunity empowers them to learn many useful skills, such as stocking and maintaining inventory, scheduling, customer service, marketing and communications and various other  workplace, businesses and entrepreneurial skills. They can then use the skills learned to help them in their everyday lives, as well as in the future, after graduation.
Check out the video  here and learn more about Edutopia  here.
