“Champion” – a person, or persons, who work to promote Saskatchewan agriculture and help farmers build public trust.

The “Food & Farming Champion” Award is presented to an individual who has taken the initiative to help engage or educate consumers about agriculture in our province. Nominees have used their skills to help inform consumers or correct misinformation about production practices, and done a measurable job of promoting our industry. The nomination deadline is September 30, 2018 and the recipient will be honoured at the Farms at the Table Annual Conference on December 6, 2018.
Your Agriculture on Global TV
Global TV has added a segment to their Thursday Global News at 6 program called Your Agriculture to focus on agriculture issues. This will help fill the void left by the retirement of Bob Simpson and discontinuation of Farm Gate.

Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan, along with SaskWheat, SaskCanola and Saskatchewan Cattlemen's Association have co-sponsored this initiative on behalf of our members and producers.

YXE Airport Faces of Food Display
FFC SK is working with the Saskatoon Airport Authority and a Saskatchewan based photographer, Nathan Jones, to install a display at the Saskatoon (YXE) Airport that features Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers as the 'Faces of Food'. The display will go up September 2, 2018.

Volunteer Opportunity: Meet a Farmer at Taste of Sask
On Saturday, July 21, we're inviting farmers and ranchers to join us for a few hours at Taste of Saskatchewan to provide an opportunity for consumers to ask questions and to gain a better appreciation of how Saskatchewan farmers grow food.

If you're available for a few hours to hand out information, facilitate games, pose for photo ops and talk to curious people about your operation, sign up now!

Welcome Christina Nelson
FFC SK welcomes Christina Nelson to our communications team. Christina is taking over for Serra McSymytz who will be taking maternity leave in August.

Christina brings several years of experience within the agriculture industry through her previous work with the Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan, where she managed provincial communications for a national animal care program and coordinated numerous projects for the chicken industry. Christina and her husband have a cow/calf operation and also help with her family’s grain farm by St. Denis, SK.
