41st YMCA Lighthouse Run on Sat. June 15
Participants in the YMCA Lighthouse Run will make their way through Wind Point from about 8:20 to 10:10 a.m. The course will use one lane only on Three Mile Road, Lighthouse Drive, Four Mile Road and Main Street. Course pick up occurs following the final runner and is typically completed by 10:45 a.m. Traffic delays are expected, particularity at the intersections of Three Mile Road and Main Street, and Four Mile Road and Main Street, so please plan accordingly.
Boat, RV, Camper, and Trailer Storage
With summer here the use of boats, recreation vehicles and trailers picks up. As a reminder, Village ordinances restrict outdoor storage. Up to one boat (and trailer), utility trailer, camper, camper trailer or recreational vehicle may be stored outside between April 1 and October 31. It must be stored in the rear yard between the side building lines of the house and be at least 15 feet from the rear property line.

If you will need to have a boat, trailer or recreational vehicle in your driveway for a short period, a temporary storage permit may be requested from Wind Point Police for a period of up to five days (limited to four times per year, per property). Please contact the Village Office at info@windpoint.org if you have questions.
Village Green Court Reservations
The Parks & Facilities Committee recently approved a new policy for residents to reserve the tennis and pickleball courts at Village Green. A reservation permit is required for any group that would like to secure use of the facilities. Reservations are limited to Monday through Friday and are limited to two-hour blocks of time up to six times per week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. No more than two courts may be reserved for a two-hour block.
There is no charge to reserve the courts. If you would like to reserve courts please email info@windpoint.org for an application.
Fireworks Reminders
With the 4th of July Holiday approaching please remember that fireworks that propel into the air are prohibited in the Village. Fireworks and related toy items that stay on the ground are allowed, but loud noises (especially at night) may be considered a nuisance under Village ordinances. Please be respectful of your neighbors, especially to combat veterans and others with sensitivity to loud noises.
Plan Ahead for Your Block Party
With the warm weather, residents are surely thinking about planning their neighborhood block parties.

As a reminder, block parties do not require a formal street permit application if the portion of the street that is used does not exceed 300 feet in length . However, you must have prior approval from the Wind Point Police in order to use any part of the street for your party or restrict the flow of traffic in any way .

When planning a block party, please contact the Police non-emergency number (262.639.3022) well in advance to discuss your plans or get more information.
Lawn and Yard Maintenance
Yard waste is picked up by the Village's garbage and recycling hauler, Johns Disposal. All yard waste must be put into paper or compostable bags. Brush must be cut to lengths no longer than 4 feet and each bag you place out must have a yellow sticker affixed to it. Brush is collected every Monday with your garbage from April through November.

Village Public Works crews pick up branches on the second Tuesday of every month from April through November. Please see the the requirements for branch pickup by clicking here.

Please remember that village ordinance requires lawns to be kept below 12 inches in height. If grass is allowed to grow above this height, the Village may have the lawn mowed--and bill the property owner. Residents are also responsible for maintaining lawns in public right-of-way areas adjacent to their property.

For any questions, please contact the Village Office at   info@windpoint.org .
Property Assessments
The Village will be holding open book from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 at the Village Office. Open book is a designated time for property owners to come and meet with the Village's assessor if you have questions regarding your property assessment. If your property assessment changed for this year you will be receiving a notification from the Assessor's Office that will explain the changes.

If you are not able to make the open book time, you can always contact the Village's contracted assessor, Associated Appraisal at 1-800-721-4157 or by email at  info@apraz.com to discuss your property assessment.

More information regarding the assessment process can be found by clicking here.
