Greetings friends,
It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through the year!
Congratulations are in order for the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter for taking home the WTS Circle of Excellence – Gold Level for the fifth consecutive year!!! With approximately 15 chapter members in attendance, we were well represented at the 2019 WTS International Conference in Boston. Our group certainly made a showing with a lovely display of purple headpieces in honor and memory of one our chapter’s greatest trailblazers, Wanda J. Schafer.
Wanda faithfully attended the organization’s annual conference and made it a practice to encourage each one of us to increase our involvement and seek out leadership opportunities. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, including a few of our committees that are actively seeking volunteers:
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship Committee oversees the annual scholarship program and ensures timely and fair disposition of scholarship funds. The committee is charged with publicizing and soliciting applications.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee spearheads membership recruitment, engagement, and retention initiatives. The committee collaborates with current and potential members to attain insight on member challenges and needs.
MENTORING COMMITTEE
The Mentoring Committee establishes and fosters mentor/mentee relationships to facilitate the advancement of personal and/or professional goals. Mentors provide support and advice based on the best interest of the mentee and encourage finding balance in their personal and professional lives.
Our chapter is made up of such skilled and diverse individuals, and our collective involvement keeps us within the Circle of Excellence. I know Wanda would be proud.
Sincerely,
Adrienne Williams
