President's Message
Greetings friends,

It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through the year!

Congratulations are in order for the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter for taking home the WTS Circle of Excellence – Gold Level for the fifth consecutive year!!! With approximately 15 chapter members in attendance, we were well represented at the 2019 WTS International Conference in Boston. Our group certainly made a showing with a lovely display of purple headpieces in honor and memory of one our chapter’s greatest trailblazers, Wanda J. Schafer.

Wanda faithfully attended the organization’s annual conference and made it a practice to encourage each one of us to increase our involvement and seek out leadership opportunities. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved, including a few of our committees that are actively seeking volunteers:

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship Committee oversees the annual scholarship program and ensures timely and fair disposition of scholarship funds. The committee is charged with publicizing and soliciting applications.

Our chapter is made up of such skilled and diverse individuals, and our collective involvement keeps us within the Circle of Excellence. I know Wanda would be proud.

Sincerely,
Adrienne Williams

WTS International Conference

The month of May marked the WTS Annual Conference: The Hub of Ingenuity in Boston, MA where 15 members from our Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter gathered together with men and women from across the country to exchange ideas, learn about the latest developments in our industry, and connect with individuals with the same passion for excellence.

This year’s conference was full of energy as we heard from our new International Board about some exciting initiatives they have taken on for our organization; attended technical sessions on Leadership, Resiliency, Innovation, and Transformations in Mobility; and listened to inspirational messages from keynote speakers Katty Kay, with BBC and Allie Kelly with The Ray. Highlights of the conference included our traditional chapter dinner at Legal Sea Foods with conference attendees from our chapter as well as our friends from the Houston Chapter, Technical Tours including a tour of the Boston Harbor, cheering for the Boston Red Sox at Wrigley Field, and honoring Wanda Schafer with our purple hats at the Annual Awards Gala. The conference was capped off on Friday morning by learning that the Greater Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter was awarded the WTS Chapter Circle of Excellence Gold Level Award for 2019.
