Visual artist and creative consultant Mack Bishop's newest exhibition opening at The Collective celebrates Black Music Month with paintings of the iconic musical figures who opened America's doors for all creatives of color.

"A Musical Tribute," featuring portraits of Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Nipsey Hustle and others, opens with a reception Saturday, June 8. The exhibit, curated by Dominic R. Clay, runs through June 29. (read more)

The Collective's Art Education Classes

The Collective makes arts education accessible
to children and adults so that they may develop skills, confidence, increase economic opportunities
and enhance their quality of life.  Children are involved during and in after-school sessions
at the Academy of Accelerated Learning, the
SHAPE Community Center and at Blackshear Elementary.  The Jubilee Quilt Circle meets regularly at
The Collective, and various workshops
and classes are held throughout the year.

from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Community Artists' Collective invites you to learn about and to
work on textiles, including quilting, knitting, crochet and embroidering. 


Supplies provided. Suggested donation is $30 per month.
