Peabody Wins Better Business Challenge!

We are so proud of our students' efforts to engage in green initiatives! Thank you to the  Charlottesville Climate Collaborative   for recognizing our work on June 20th at the  Better Business Challenge awards ceremony. Peabody was recognized as the Champion for Medium sized businesses and won the "Kilowatt Crackdown" award for reducing our energy consumption by 44% last year. Our students were also recognized as "Next Generation Influencers." It was truly inspiring to see the work other organizations are engaging in as well! Thank you to Amy Lastinger and our kids for their leadership!
Let's Get Together this Summer!

Summer is here! All Peabody families (parents and kids) are invited to an informal gathering at Kardinal Hall on Thursday, July 11th from 4:30 pm to whenever! Come grab a drink or dinner, play some games, and visit with other Peabody families. Hope to see you there!
Admissions Wrap-Up

Thank you to all our Peabody families who helped in the admissions process for the 2019-2020 academic year! Whether you gave tours, participated in "Bring A Friend Day," or just in general spread the word about Peabody, we appreciate all your efforts. We are pleased to welcome 50 new students next year, to make a total of 220 enrolled students! In addition, our diversity numbers are the highest ever, with 30% new enrollees being students of color, which brings our overall school percentage to 26%. Huge thanks to our Diversity Committee for their ongoing work in this area. We look forward to celebrating the 25th anniversary of Peabody with a full house next year!
Survey Thanks

We just wanted to say "thank you" to all the families who took the time to complete the 2018-19 Current Parent survey and our Diversity and Inclusivity survey last month. We appreciate your constructive feedback, and will be working this summer to implement many of your suggestions!
Tennis Champs!

Peabody students Sean and Luke Frank were two of 80 kids playing in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz junior tennis championship, a tournament series that has been going since the 1940s. Luke was runner-up in the 14U division, and Sean won the 12U division, playing up in an age group above his. Congratulations to the Franks!!
Alumni Receive Awards

David Argo and Yanni Raymond, Peabody Class of 2016, were the recipients of the Independent Study and Research Award at the Renaissance School awards ceremony this year. Established in 2007, this award was created to recognize outstanding focus, dedication, and commitment through passion to an extensive research project. Way to go, David and Yanni!
Summer Hours

Generally, someone will be in the office for the duration of the summer with the exception of the week of July 1-5 when we will be CLOSED. Our business hours in the summer are 9AM-3PM. During the summer, if you need to stop by the school, it is always a good idea to call ahead to make sure someone will be in the office. You will receive two additional newsletters, one each in July and August, that will contain important information about next year.
