June 2020:

Destination Niagara - Niagara Misses You

Niagara Misses You!

Father's Day Gift Guide in Niagara

While this year's Father's Day may be a little unconventional, there are still some great ways to celebrate Dad here in Niagara.

Golf Course Passes - A Classic Gift!

Reserve a tee-time at one of the Golf Courses nearby for a perfect gift. Not only will he be able to get outside and enjoy a sunny day on the green, each course will have additional measures in place to ensure the safety of their guests including enhanced cleaning measures, strict social distancing, limited tee times, and more.

Some favourites include:

Pick up some drinks to-go!

Niagara has some of the best craft beers to offer and now you can bring them home to enjoy on the couch, backyard, or poolside!

Oast House

Oast has some great beers available for take-out. In addition to their classic Farmhouse Ales, they have a new Offshoot Series including two new favourites: the Forgotten Field Sour IPA and Midnight Plow Dark IPA.

Bench Brewing

Although their taproom and kitchen are currently closed, Bench Brewing offers a variety of different options to make sure that their beer can keep flowing! They have pick-up and delivery options online. With some great seasonal beers available and limited releases, you're sure to find a unique and refreshing drink.

Counterpart Brewing

Counterpart knows what the people want! With steady flows of can releases, Counterpart has a wide selection of beers available to take home. Whether it's a sour, IPA, stout, or anything in-between, we recommend you stop by and pick up a case (or two) to enjoy.

Spend the Day Exploring

If your Dad isn't one for gifts, why not opt for a day outside and just enjoy the company? While we know that social distancing is vital and helping to stop the spread is of utmost importance, it's also important to get outside and enjoy nature to help boost both mental and physical health. Something as simple as a short walk around the neighbourhood, or down any of the many trails throughout Niagara, may make for a Father's Day to remember.
Shop Local: Farmer's Markets Open Up

A great way to help support the Niagara community in these times of uncertainty is to help support local businesses by shopping local! Farmer's Markets have slowly started to re-open throughout the region and nothing screams "summer" more than fresh produce and flowers brought to you by some of Niagara's favourite growers, producers and artisans.

St. Catharines Farmer's Market

Currently the market is only open on Saturdays from 8am-12pm with several safety measures in place to ensure that both guests and vendors are protected. Some of the newly-introduced requirements include a limit on the number of customers allowed in the market at a given time, regular hand sanitization, face masks, no reusable bags, electronic payments, and social distancing. A new online shopping portal has also been introduced to allow shoppers to select their items ahead of time for pick-up during market hours.

Pelham Farmer's Market

Open on Thursdays from 4:30pm to dusk, the Pelham Farmer's Market is slotted to open again on June 11. With online options available for shopping, and enhanced health and safety measures, Pelham Town Square will be home again to some of the best produce available!

Niagara Falls Farmer's Market

Plans to open the Niagara Falls Farmer's Market on June 6th include a potential online platform, and strict measures in place due to COVID-19. The 2020 season will hopefully run through until the Fall at the MacBain Community Centre parking lot. Patrons will be encouraged to have one person per household attend, wear facemasks, bring reusable bags, and keep the first hour of market (7-8am) open for seniors and essential workers only.

If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, consult the Ministry of Health's  COVID-19 self-assessment tool and then contact Public Health at (905) 688-8248 x 7019 for an initial screening.
