We're Going Virtual for Vision
2020 State Leadership Conference
July 24-26, 2020
|
|
While we had hoped that State Leadership Conference would be able to be held this summer to continue the tradition of teaching Leadership skills with a hands-on experience, it’s become clear the impact of COVID-19 will continue to be felt for the foreseeable future and that large gatherings should not be held. Based on the advice of health experts and the continued guidance issued by the Governor and University of California leadership, we have decided to move State Leadership Conference to a virtual format. The health and safety of our 4-H members and volunteers are our number one priority.
The State Ambassadors and the members of State Leadership Conference planning team are working diligently to create an engaging and interactive on-line experience. Schedule and registration will be announced within the next few weeks.
Thank you for your support!

Creating an Oasis for Yourself & Others
Special Wellness Webinar for University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Volunteers.
In this environment of broken routines and uncertainty, chances are you - and those around you - are experiencing big feelings. Stress and coping are frequent topics of discussion as work life, home life, and social life collide, expand, and contract.
Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations and we are all in need of tools, new and old, to improve our resilience. After all, taking care of yourself, your family, and your friends can help you cope with stress and can make your community stronger.
The speakers focus our attention on taking care of ourselves and each other. You’ll learn about the therapeutic benefits of gardening, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and personal resilience. Whether you are a University of California employee or a volunteer, creating an oasis during challenging times could be the most important task of all.
Speakers:
Anne Iaccopucci, Academic Coordinator for Healthy Living
Marcel Horowitz , Healthy Youth, Families & Communities Advisor
Missy Gable, Statewide UC Master Gardener Director
Creating an Oasis for Yourself & Others was presented live via Zoom on 5/13/20.
Video Recording, Presentation and Survey are on the California 4-H at Home site.

With all the masks, face shields, and other acts of service that 4-H'ers are providing to their communities during this time, this is a growing part of 4-H.
The Civic Engagement Officer is responsible for all aspects of one or more service projects that your club participates in during the 4-H year. Officers will give leadership to the project and create a club Civic Engagement Committee who will collaborate and delegate responsibilities to club members, advisors, and parents.
