" Leadership is all about people. It is not about organizations. It is not about plans. It is not about strategies. It is all about people-motivating people to get the job done. You have to be people centered. " - Colin Powell

YUJA TRANSFER
Just a reminder that Kaltura will not be a technology option for Fall 2020. If you are a Kaltura user, your files are currently being migrated to your Yuja account. You will need to update the video links/embeds in your D2L courses if they were previously using Kaltura software.

DISTANCE EDUCATION
COURSE REVIEW PROGRAM
MEET OUR GRADUATE INTERN
Graduate intern Emerald Smith
Welcome Emerald Smith, a graduate intern in the Predictive Analytics program at Austin Peay State University.

This summer, Emerald will conduct a labor-market analysis project for Distance Education. This project will analyze the current labor force to determine the effects of COVID-19 on employment. Emerald will examine recent employment data among varied industries and occupations to determine which fields are in high demand. We hope to glean from this project APSU programs that meet the needs of the workforce and emerging areas that the university might consider for future development.
CONGRATULATIONS DR. AMYE MELTON!
NEED A SANDBOX?
What is a sandbox? It's a D2L course that we can create for you so that you can start working in your online class before fall courses are made available in the LMS. Contact our support desk to have one made for you! Once fall courses are open, we can copy everything from your sandbox to your actual class. Contact our support desk at  [email protected] for more information.

IMPLEMENTING NEW 2019 FEDERAL REGULATIONS DURING COVID-19
Regulations
As institutions prepare to reopen from the COVID-19 shutdown, implementation of the 2019 regulations that are effective July 1, 2020, may present challenges. To date, the Department of Education has not issued a delay. The State Authorization Network (SAN) recommends institutions continue to work toward implementing the new 2019 regulations even if the full implementation is not feasible by July 1, 2020.

Under the new 2019 regulations, institutions should provide disclosures for programs that lead to professional licensure regardless of modality. To assist institutions with creating a campus-wide implementation strategy, the WCET, SAN, and Shari Miller developed the  Professional Licensure Disclosures Handbook and Flowchart. While instituting the new 2019 regulations amidst a pandemic will take some time, know that Austin Peay State University is not in this alone. The university has the support of WCET, SAN, and other higher education institutions across the nation.
