Contemporary Arts Network is in Hilton
While the world has come to a standstill, the Contemporary Arts Network (CAN) headquarters, 9601 Warwick Blvd, has been experiencing a surge of creative energy. A number of artists have used this time to create large-scale murals on the CAN’s exterior walls. Their gifts have already touched the community, exciting those who have stopped to admire the walls and posted pictures of the murals on social media. In the coming months, the community can expect to see color wrapping the building’s entire facade. Inside the building will be
the Daily Bread Boutique, the CAN Artist Studios, Eleanor and Hopps, Commonality, the CAN Classroom, and a state-of-the-art music studio.
If you are a creative and would like to get involved, be sure to sign up for the CAN’s open call to artists: visit
thecontemporaryartsnetwork.com
to apply.
Stay tuned to learn about the CAN’s grand opening and all of the upcoming events and opportunities!

John Lash, Our Hilton neighbor, Receives Awards from the American Public Works Association (APWA)
John Lash, a Public Works Field Representative, was one of 3 employees from the NN Dept of Public Works to receive national and regional awards from the American Public Works Association (APWA). These awards recognize employees who provide exceptional services to citizens. While his job requires him to enforce the solid waste code throughout the city, John has transformed his role to serve as more of an ambassador, engaging with citizens and community organizations to problem solve and ensure the effective utilization of city resources.
