June 2020 Vol.12 Issue 9

Dear Friends,

We are all saddened and frustrated by the tragic death of George Floyd, and for the others before him. The past month has reflected the frustration felt by so many. With deep sorrow and anger, as we are witness to the systemic racism in our nation, this serves as yet another painful reminder that racism has no place in our society.

What can we do about it? Every major faith tradition teaches our obligation to care for one another, especially the poor and downtrodden. From a spiritual point of view, the answer is simple. We are all one, and our separateness is an illusion. Divisive politics are in direct opposition to this core spiritual wisdom. "Us" versus "them" is injurious to everyone. Let's always look to heal, and work cooperatively to fair and equitable solutions in whatever space we stand.

This month's article is about the asking prices on real estate, and why it is generally not a good idea to use price as a criterion for rejecting property sight unseen. I'll explain why a broker is actually doing his or her job in showing you properties that, on first blush, don't seem to match your budget.

Stay safe, my friends.

"Oh, the possibilities!"
