I would like to start off by thanking all of our Members for supporting the Club during this current pandemic. Due to COVID-19 this season has been tremendously different compared to any I have experienced in the past. With that being said, I truly appreciate the Country Club Staff’s professionalism and dedication to the service they provide our Members and their diligence with the safety measures we have put in place to protect everyone from the spread of COVID-19.
Now that June is upon us the daily temperatures are finally warming up after a chilly overcast May. This should be very beneficial for finalizing the rejuvenation of grass in all the flood areas from last fall. As I discussed in prior letters, we want to make sure we are fully recovered before putting play on these areas because allowing play too soon will be detrimental to the overall recovery.
We will be adjusting our Golf Course and Golf Operations coronavirus measures on Tuesday, June 2nd. Our staff will continue to clean all touch areas throughout the day along with each golf cart after use, but we advise you to first wipe down any surface in which you may come in contact. Although we are making the following items available, everyone can make a personal decision whether or not to use them The adjustments are as follows:
Bunker Rakes will be available
Ball Washers will be available
Divot Mix will be available on Par Threes and Replenishing Station Tubs
Sand Bottles will be available on Golf Carts
We will keep the foam on the bottom of the flagsticks
Pencils, Scorecards and Tees will be available in Golf Carts
Towels will be available in Golf Carts
Members can start pairing up in personal and Club Golf Carts. The Golf Shop will accommodate carts for singles for any Member or Guest who would prefer to ride separately.
Coolers will remain in the Snack Bar
The Board of Managers has rescheduled the Annual Meeting for Wednesday, July 8th 2020. The meeting will be held at the Club in the Banquet Room at 7:00pm. The Banquet room will be setup at 50% capacity and with appropriate spacing of chairs. We certainly hope many of our Members will be able to attend.
The Nominating Committee has been formed for 2020. This year the members of the Nominating Committee are Doug Skinner, Chairman, along with Craig Manker, Mike Brady, Roger Svec and Mark Wetz. We will send a ballot for those who are nominated for the board by June 8th, 2020. As was the case in the past, you will be able to vote by proxy by returning your ballot to Eddie Carpenter, General Manager.
I would like to thank all Members who continue to support Dakota Dunes Country Club especially during these challenging times. It is extremely important to continue to practice CDC and Government guidelines. Together, with your help, we have been successful with abiding by these guidelines to help ensure everyone’s safety.
