As with every other industry in our economy, primary insurance carriers have been significantly impacted by the economic crisis as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Below provides a brief outline of the impact to the primary insurance and collateral protection industry.

1. State Mandates
Some states have released mandates that primary insurance companies are prohibited from cancelling a policy holder's insurance coverage due to non payment of premium during the COVID-19 crisis. You can check your state department of insurance website by clicking the State Web Map.

2. Policy Cancellations
Many insurance carriers are deferring cancellations of insurance policies due to non-payment during the COVID-19 crisis.
