Dear Families:

June 17th is the last day of school for students and staff. 

This is the day you will return your child's Chromebook and receive their report card along with other items.

Need to know and do:

  • Please arrive at Smith according to the following schedule:
  • Gr. 3 8:30 - 11:30  
  • Gr. 4 12:30 - 3:30
  • Return Chromebooks, charging cord and MiFi (if you were given one)
  • Return any remaining library books
  • Keep band and orchestra instruments for the summer, unless moving out of the district.
  • Grade level teachers will be present at the designated times   
  • Teachers will be spread out along the front circle
  • Drive to your child's teacher
  • Please do not get out of your car
  • Your child's teacher will hand you student items, artwork, report card, etc.

Encouraged to do - Show your Cortland Pride:

  • Dress in Cortland Purple and White 
  • Decorate your car or make signs
  • Honk as you leave the circle!

Note: If you are unable to come at the designated time, please call the main office to make alternate arrangements.

Yearbooks:  
The printing of our yearbooks was delayed due to shutdowns associated with COVID-19. We will mail the yearbooks home to families when they arrive.
Moving?
If you have moved or are planning to move, please provide our office or the Kaufman Center, with your updated address. This is especially important as we plan classes for next year. If you move over the summer, please notify Kendra Chambers at the Kaufman Center @ 607-758-4100. Likewise, if your contact information has changed, or changes over the summer, please notify us so we can update our records.
Smith Intermediate School Song
Music teacher, Mrs. Shelley, collaborated with 4th graders to create our new Smith School Song. Sophia Ramiza, Cara Partigianoni, Emma Honan, and Abrielle Stafford-Deitz worked on the project from start to finish, completing the recording in the last weeks of school. Food Service Continues Through June 30
Breakfast and lunch will be available for every student, Monday through Friday, at locations across the community from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Locations include:
  • Barry Primary bus loop
  • Junior Senior High School bus loop
  • Randall Middle School bus loop
  • Smith Intermediate bus loop
  • Virgil School bus loop
  • Parker School parent drop off area
  • Penguin Trailer Park (11 a.m. to 12 p.m. only) 
  • Rickard Street Apartments (11 a.m. to 12 p.m. only)
