More "New" Stuff Coming Up in June
|
|
Along with expanded hours, the Library will look a little different in June, now that COVID restrictions are lessening. Here's what's changing:
- The main entrance and exit will be relocated back to the double doors on the west side of the Library to the right of the book return slots. Since last year we have had patrons enter through the Lowell Room entrance, but that door will go back to being locked during the day.
- We will be shifting the Book Sale to the shelves to the right of the Circulation desk, where the new fiction, nonfiction, and glass display case used to be. After June 1, the book sale will no longer be set up in the Lowell Room. The old pre-pandemic book shop space has been the office space for Library Director Lucy Loomis since last May, and will remain so for the foreseeable future so she can continue to be readily available to assist staff and patrons.
- More chairs will be available to people wishing to read the paper, study, do research, etc.
- Additional computers will be available, as well as the CLAMS online catalog.
- There will no longer be a time limit for visiting in the Library.
- We ask all visitors to continue to wear a mask while in the building.

Spring Plant and Garden Sale
|
|
The Plant and Garden sale begins Monday, May 24th, 2021! Plants and other items will be on sale under the tent on the patio until they are all sold out.
When you're out in your garden dividing plants this spring, why not pot some up for Sturgis Library's annual Plant and Garden Sale?
We will accept annuals, perennials, seedlings, shrubs, herbs, container gardens, houseplants, new or gently used tools, terra cotta or pottery pots in good condition, garden decor, birdfeeders or birdhouses, newer gardening books, and more!
When you pot your plants, please label them (popsicle sticks work great) indicating the variety, if it requires sun/shade, and height and habit if known. Also please indicate the color.
Please bring your donated items to the Library and staff will let you know where to drop the items off . Please call us at 508-362-6636 or email sturgislibrary@comcast.net if you have any questions.
And thank you!
