The Kentucky Poor People’s Campaign is holding a news conference at the Mazzoli Building in Louisville to demand that Kentucky Congressional representatives across the state embrace the Third Reconstruction resolution to end poverty and low wages in this country. Monday, June 7th, Noon, a processional march to the Square at 6th and Jefferson for justice for Breonna Taylor follows the press conference.

The Racial Healing Task Force will complete our service as a task force on May 31, 2022. Beginning in June, Bishop White will appoint people to a Commission charged with leading the Diocese of Kentucky in the work of racial healing.

If your congregation used the Lenten resources we provided this year or in 2020, please let me know via email how they were received in the congregation. If you used different resources related to racial healing, I'm interested to find out what you used and how it was received.

I invite every congregation to have an Anne Brayden commemoration this year if you did not already do this in March. She was born on July 28th. Here is a link to liturgical resources and her bio.

Last of all, I want to remind congregational leaders that every congregation should be working to discover their history as it relates to racist activity so that you can report your findings at the 194th Diocesan Convention in November 2021.

We have missed hosting you all at All Saints -it’s hard to believe it has been more than a year! While we have not been able to have guests at All Saints, we have been busy with all sorts of new projects. We have built a new state-of-the-art Disc Golf Course that winds through the woods behind the lodge down to the lakefront. We have also been working on a new 11 circuit Chartres Labyrinth that will be built this Fall on the upper campus behind the Lodge accommodations. Great thanks to the Daughters of the King and other donors who are making this possible. Thanks to another donor, a wonderful new Boathouse is being built near the shoreline to store kayaks, paddleboards & canoes!  We have a long list of other improvements that we are planning for All Saints. We would appreciate your support to help make these happen. Also check out the non-silent auctions for wonderful items that have been donated to support our beloved All Saints. Beginning in July we invite you to visit the virtual fundraising site here. Please note the site will not be accessible until July 1st.

During this Zoom meeting, participants receive a general overview of the Racial Justice Audit of The Episcopal Church Leadership Bodies. This overview includes a breakdown of the survey statistics and the nine dominant patterns of how and where leaders in The Episcopal Church experience racism. The webinar is available to watch here.

The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations has developed a toolkit for individuals, congregations and ministries to facilitate and promote COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the United States. This toolkit promotes the ongoing work that parishes and dioceses have already been doing, shares best practices, and offers ideas for ways that communities can help U.S.- based Episcopalians to facilitate vaccination, overcome vaccine hesitancy, and find information from state and local officials. Churches and church leaders (lay and ordained) can serve as an important trusted bridge between public health officials and communities. Read more (In English and Spanish) here.
