FINANCE DEPARTMENT
City staff held a send-off celebration on Friday, May 28th, honoring Roxanna Briley and her 5 years of service as our Finance Director. We wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors!

Kimberly Lynn Named as Interim Finance Director
Kimberly Lynn has been employed with the City of Jacksonville since 2018 where she began working as the Utility Billing Manager. In May of 2019, Lynn became the Project Specialist for Public and Community Services, assisting all departments with Purchasing, Accounts Payables, administration and budgets. Lynn was promoted to Customer Service Manager in November of 2020.

After graduating from Tarleton State University with a degree in Ag Business and a minor in Accounting, Lynn worked for Farmland Industries and Animal Science Products in Accounting positions for over 25 years.
 
Kimberly is married to her husband, Chris Lynn for 28 years. They have three children, Kyla, Callie and Kolby. 
JACKSONVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly remodeled Public Library was held on Thursday, May 27, 2021. We had a great turn-out and really enjoyed watching the excitement on all of the visitors' faces as they walked inside for the first time. The Jacksonville Public Library is located at 526 E. Commerce Street and is now open 7 days a week.

Monday & Wednesday: 12pm - 8pm
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 8am - 5pm
Saturday: 10am - 2pm
Sunday: 1pm - 5pm
JACKSONVILLE FIRE/EMS DEPARTMENT
NATIONAL EMS WEEK CELEBRATIONS
Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate National EMS Week! Our staff was taken care of the entire week with snacks and treats. We also appreciated the kind words of encouragement on our social media page as well as in person.
STROKE AWARENESS MONTH
Jacksonville Fire/EMS partnered with UT Health and Walmart by providing free blood pressure screenings during Stroke Awareness Month.
JACKSONVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Police Officer's Memorial was held at Love's Lookout on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Family members of local, fallen officers were present as well as many leaders and community members as the ceremony paid tribute to those lives that were lost in the line of duty.

We had a few happy felines this month who were adopted by loving families! Thank you for choosing adoption.

The Buckner Pool at the Summer A. Norman
Aquatic Center opened Monday, May 31st
for the 2021 season.

AROUND TOWN
The TOPS IN TEXAS RODEO came into town and scored record breaking numbers for attendance!
The fans were excited to see the cowboys and cowgirls after having the event cancelled due to Covid last year.
Frank Dobrovolny Sworn In as Municipal Court Judge
Judge Paul Mascot performed the swearing in ceremony for Frank Dobrovolny as a Municipal Court Judge. Dobrovolny had family and friends in attendance for the event.
