Quiet Corner Reads Virtual Author Event

Scotland/Canterbury Book Club

Join us on Tuesday, June 15 at 7 p.m. for a book discussion at Scotland Public Library. We are reading and discussing, The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton. Stop by the library to get your copy of the book! If you'd prefer to participate virtually, contact the library for the Zoom link.

Summer Reading


Visit the library June 22nd-26th to register for SPL's summer reading program! Pick up the packet to begin tracking your reading progress right away. We are very excited to share our schedule of events with you! We will offer a variety of grab-and-go crafts along with outdoor story times. Looking forward to an incredible summer!


Our finale will take place on the morning of August 7th. Mark your calendars!

Weekly Story Time on Google Classroom

Contact the library to join our Google Classroom for lots of fun at our weekly Story Time.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Help your child prepare for school by reading to them everyday. Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the library.

It's easy:

  • stop by the library to pick up your packet.
  • keep a journal of all the books you share with your child
  • bring in your reading log for a prize to mark each milestone.

Kill-A-Watt: Take Control of Your Energy Use!

Eversource has provided a handy kit that you can borrow and take home to check the efficiency of your appliances. Stop by to get the information you need to save money and energy.

Go to the app store on your device and search for SimplyE. Follow the directions to download the app and then find Scotland Public Library on the list of libraries. You will need your library barcode and your account password and you are ready to enjoy a variety of e-books and audiobooks.
