The Sun Times News
Started in 1882, what once was called the Stockbridge Town Crier has evolved into the publication currently known as The Sun Times News, which is delivered to the Communities of Dexter, Chelsea, and Saline. Chuck Colby’s acquisition makes him only the fifth owner in the history of the publication. The newspaper which is both printed and published online has five writers, three salespeople, two administrative workers, a layout designer, a graphic designer, and Colby, who describes himself as the Chief Bottle Washer doing a little bit of everything, including the final layout of the print product.
The paper is delivered through the mail, at no cost to the end-user, but is supported by advertising, public notices, and contributions from readers.” It is really an honor to be a part of this newspaper.“ said Colby. “ I believe that one of the greatest joys a parent can have is seeing their child in the newspaper, being featured for something that they have done, whether it’s athletics, academics, or something else where they excel. Likewise, having an unbiased news source that people can get dependable news from is one of the cornerstones of our democracy. It's so vital and it is an awesome responsibility.”
