The goal of these meetings is to receive technical assistance, learn about new DPP resources and engage in peer learning.

The NC Division of Public Health is pleased to offer a unique opportunity for trained and practicing lifestyle coaches offering the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) to participate in a series of FREE advanced lifestyle coach training webinars. These trainings are made available to you by Emory’s Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) and Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES). These trainings are designed to complement your National DPP lifestyle coach training and to enhance competencies as a trained lifestyle coach.

The North Carolina Diabetes Advisory Council (NC DAC) accepts nominations for the annual NC DAC Awards starting June 1^st. The three award categories recognize individuals or groups who have demonstrated exemplary work in diabetes prevention and management. The diabetes educator scholarship provides continuing education funding to one professional who provides diabetes prevention or management education

Award recipients are recognized on October 28, 2022 during an awards ceremony following the Diabetes Advisory Council meeting. Don’t miss the opportunity to recognize your diabetes hero. *These webinars fulfill the new requirement in the 2021 CDC DPRP Standards, which says, “…all Lifestyle Coaches and Program Coordinators should also complete at least two hours of Advanced Coach Training each year. Advanced Coach Training is training beyond the required formal training for Lifestyle Coaches that builds on the foundational skills necessary for helping participants make effective lifestyle change…”
