Greetings!
I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I have been traveling across the country to meet with Tauber students and project sponsors for mid-project reviews, and loved gathering with some of our Seattle alumni while visiting our Boeing and Microsoft project teams. We are thrilled to be planning an in-person SPOTLIGHT! Team Project Showcase and Scholarship Competition in Ann Arbor this September to highlight the fantastic work of our students! We hope you can join us - and we need your input.
Do you know someone who would be an excellent SPOTLIGHT! judge? Each year, the Tauber Institute welcomes leaders from a wide range of industries to evaluate student presentations and select the SPOTLIGHT! winners. If your company is unfamiliar with the Tauber Institute, judging is an excellent way to discover all the benefits that the Tauber program offers our industry partners. Please nominate yourself or another operations leader using this form - or reach out to me with questions.
Go Blue!

"My Tauber experience was my first professional experience in the climate tech space. I worked with two MBA students on a project for Pacific Gas & Electric to help this utility assist their commercial customers in switching from conventional vehicles (gasoline or diesel) to electric... I was fascinated with the electric vehicle space and knew I wanted to continue my career in that space."
Tauber alumna Madeline Gilleran (EGL BSE/MSE-ME '19) advises today's students to embrace non-linear career paths and to continue to learn and grow after university! Maddie is currently a senior battery data analyst for the electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian - and studies machine learning in her spare time.

The Tauber team of Gilbert Pasquale (MBA '22) and Channing Wan (EGL BSE/MSE-IOE '22) focused their efforts to maximize their project impact for Beyond Meat. While measuring Operational Equipment Effectiveness, the team identified a specific machine on the plant floor that had significantly lower availability and performance. Gilbert and Channing organized an Autonomous Maintenance Event and included the machine’s manufacturer, facility management, the maintenance team, and the production team to develop an improvement plan that prevents costly breakdowns.
