On Mother's Day weekend, Storyteller teamed up with Wilderness Youth Project for a Nature Play Day. Our students and their families enjoyed a day on the Santa Ynez River engaging in outdoor activities, ice breaker games, followed by a potluck dinner and barbecue. Many of the Storyteller staff attended this day of fun, giving families, staff, and WYP counselors an opportunity to share the joys of the outdoors together. A highlight was when the children had the opportunity to play in the water and the mud, making mud pies, and experiencing nature with all their senses. The WYP employees facilitated games and learning opportunities supported by the natural surroundings. The Storyteller staff and the families ended the day with a stronger sense of community and connection to each other. We always celebrate the expertise of our teachers, and Teacher Appreciation Week allows us to extend an extra special thank you for the positive impact they have on our students. We celebrated our teachers, May 2nd through May 6th with special gifts through out the week.

Great news, we are finally welcoming volunteers back to Storyteller Children's Center. It has been a long two years without our Storyteller Friends supporting our teachers. We thank you for your patience while we waited for COVID guidelines to ease. We will begin scheduling volunteers for the week of June 13th, so get your application in today!
