Volleyball Alberta Summer Camps are filling up fast now! We have only a few spots left for our Edmonton camps and registrations are still available for Rocky Mountain House. 


Edmonton, July 11-15 - Registration is OPEN. Closes July 3rd. Max. 36 campers. 


Rocky Mountain House, July 24-29 - Registration is OPEN. Closes July 9th. Max. 80 campers.

Come spend a week of your summer with Volleyball Alberta! These are developmental camps with an emphasis on the basic skills and fitness levels for all athletes. Days will be filled with opportunities to connect with other campers and coaches, while learning new volleyball skills. Some of the provinces top coaches and post secondary athletes will lead the way to ensure each and every athlete has a week they will never forget.

Youth Beach Programs - Edmonton

Volleyball Alberta is offering three youth beach program options this summer in Edmonton at our John Fry Park Beach Volleyball Courts.


  * Beginner Level Beach Skill Development 12U-14U

  * Youth Beach Skill Development 14U-17U

  * Youth 2's coed League Nights 14U-17U


📝Registration is OPEN for the July sessions! Closes June 29th.

Youth Beach Tournaments 

Excitement is building as we are just a day away from hosting our first Beach Tournament of the season in Sylvan Lake!


Coming up in Sylvan Lake:


June 25, 16U - registration is FULL & CLOSED

June 26, 15U - registration is FULL & CLOSED


There will be 33 teams playing this Saturday and 35 teams playing on Sunday at the Sylvan Lake Pier (next to the Aqua Splash Park) 😃


July 9, 13U & 18U - registration is OPEN

July 10, 14U - registration is OPEN


July 16, 15U - registration is OPEN

July 17, 16U - registration is OPEN


July 23, 18U - registration is OPEN

July 24, 14U - registration is OPEN


Registration for this weekend is closed. However, it's not too late for you to secure your spot to play in Sylvan Lake the following few weekends!! Currently there are lots of spots left in all groups, but don't delay.

Team Alberta

Team Alberta Training Centres are scheduled to start next week.  The purpose of the Team Alberta Training Centre is to expose a larger number of athletes to advanced instruction in volleyball specific skills, fitness, mental, and physical preparation. The focus will be on technical and tactical training in all aspects of the game by both Provincial Team Coaches and mentor coaches from around the province. 


Volleyball Alberta wishes to congratulate all the athletes invited to the 15U/16U Training Centres! We are also proud to announce the athletes selected to our 17U and 19U teams and welcome the coaches who will lead a fantastic summer of training for Team Alberta!

The Canada Games, held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, are the largest multi-sport event in the country and represent the pinnacle of interprovincial/territorial sport competition.

Volleyball Alberta's two Canada Games Beach teams are scheduled to have a few training camps and competitive opportunities prior to representing Alberta in the 2022 Canada Summer Games which will take place August 5-14 in Niagara, ON. 

Team Alberta Beach selection camps were held in June. Selected athletes are scheduled for a few training camps, compete in Volleyball Alberta's Youth Beach Provincials in Calgary August 2-5 and go on to represent Alberta in Volleyball Canada's Youth National Championships in Toronto August 19-21. Stay tuned for athlete announcements.

CLUB 2023

Volleyball Alberta will be releasing the 2022-23 Letter of Intent (LOI) Form on June 30th, 2022.


The 2022-23 LOI – Form can be found by clicking here.

 

The following restrictions are in place starting July 1st, 2022:


i) Athletes are eligible to receive a letter of intent: 15U to 18U teams – July 1st until August 31st



ii)  Athletes are eligible to sign a letter of intent: 15U to 18U teams – August 1st until August 31st


iii)  Club Presidents must be registered Volleyball Alberta members from the previous VA Club Season before offering an LOI to athletes.



iv) Club Presidents must have completed the screening process from the previous VA Club Season prior to offering an LOI to athletes.



v) Clubs must be registered and approved by Volleyball Alberta from the previous VA Club Season before offering an LOI to athletes.



vi) New Clubs are ineligible to offer and sign athletes to LOI’s in July and August

 International Coaching Symposium

Calgary will host an International Coaching Symposium to coincide with Women's Volleyball Nations League, the event will showcase the top volleyball coaches and sport leaders in the world.


Canada’s women’s head coach Shannon Winzer will be featured alongside Karch Kiraly (USA), Giovanni Guidetti (TUR), Daniele Santarelli (SRB), Vital Heynen (GER), Dr. Kerry MacDonald (CAN), Jan De Brandt (BEL) among others.


Two pre-tournament online presentations are also being offered separately for referees and coaches on "Maintaining Confidence Through Conflict" and "Mentorship" (registration deadline is Sunday, June 26).  The seminar will also include a "Women in Leadership" panel session to inspire and empower women in the field. The sessions will take place from June 28 to July 1, registration includes VNL ticket options.
