Respect Life Ministry

Dear Pro-Life Friend,
Respect Life Ministry has a new leadership team! I am stepping down as Director, but the ministry is in good hands.

While I am sad to to leave this community we've come to love, I am excited for the new adventure that awaits my family in California, where my husband will teach at Thomas Aquinas College.

The good news is that our Assistant Director, Angela Curatalo has accepted the Director position, and Belkys Rodriguez Prado, Program Coordinator, has accepted the Assistant Director position.
Angela and Belkys have both run Pregnancy Help Centers, have been with the ministry for many years in various capacities, and will make an amazing, faith-filled, driven and dedicated, bilingual leadership team to continue serving Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties.

There is so much momentum and hope on the horizon for the pro-life movement, so much progress made, babies saved, lives changed, and hearts healed. We're in a great position here in South Florida, though there's more work to be done.

I am so grateful to you and all our dear friends and supporters of the Archdiocese of Miami Respect Life Ministry. As faithful sons and daughters of the Church, you continue running the race as missionaries of the Gospel of Life.

We especially want to thank the volunteers who were instrumental in moving our North Broward and Central Broward Pregnancy Help Center locations to the new Fort Lauderdale location-- where our partnership with Sidewalk Advocates is bearing so much fruit with men and women turning away from the abortion clinic and coming to us instead!

And I want to encourage all our prayer vigil participants and sidewalk advocates to stay the course. Let's not let attempts to try to intimidate us be successful. We are courageous defenders of LIFE, in season and out. If Christ is for us, who can be against us?

In this month of June, let us take time to refocus, recharge, and renew our ministry through devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pope Saint John Paul II tells us that:

"The entire devotion to the Heart of Jesus in its every manifestation is profoundly Eucharistic: it is expressed in religious practices which stir the faithful to live in harmony with Christ, "meek and humble of heart" (Mt 11: 29), and it is intensified in adoration. It is rooted and finds its summit in participation in Holy Mass, especially Sunday Mass, where the hearts of the faithful, fraternally assembled in joy, listen to the word of God and learn to offer with Christ themselves and the whole of their lives. There they are nourished at the paschal banquet of the Redeemer's Body and Blood and, sharing fully the love which beats in his Heart, they strive to be ever more effective evangelizers and witnesses of solidarity and hope."

Giving thanks to God the Father, who has revealed his love in the Heart of Christ, may we allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten and guide us in humble and brave obedience to his Holy Will.

Please join me in congratulating our new leadership team: Angela Curatalo as the new Director, and Belkys Rodriguez Prado as the new Assistant Director, for the Archdiocese of Miami Respect Life Ministry!
