Dr. Joseph Warren: First American Martyr at the Battle of Bunker Hill June 17, 1775 Saturday, June 10th at 3:00 pm, Main Library
Historical author Christian DiSpigna will take us back in time exploring the life and death of Dr. Joseph Warren Founding Martyr. Using his effective arsenal of voice, pen, and sword, Dr. Joseph Warren helped push thirteen colonies towards independence. Without him, the rebellion would have likely faltered, possibly ending in failure. The values and principles he championed endure, while his story remains a tale of inspiration.

Westwood Seniors Present Spring Art Exhibit ‘Creative Inspirations’
Thursday, June 8th at 4:00 pm, Main Library
We welcome all to celebrate Spring and explore a fabulous array of inspirational and creative artworks done in Watercolor painting and Drawings by Westwood Seniors. Students attending classes with Instructor Brenda Goldman at the Westwood Council on Aging learn various Watercolor painting and drawing techniques, resulting in the vast array of subjects on exhibit.
Enjoy the artwork and meet many of the artists!

Did You Know... | Westwood has a New Youth Poet Laureate

Lucie Sechler, Westwood High School class of 2024, is Westwood’s first Youth Poet Laureate. She was formally appointed at the May 8 Westwood Select Board meeting by a unanimous vote. A selection committee composed of library director Elizabeth McGovern, Friends of the Library member and poet Karen Michaelson, and Westwood Poet Laureate Lynne Viti reviewed applications of several applicants and interviewed three finalists before formally recommending Lucie to the Select Board. Her term runs for one year, beginning June 1, 2023.

Where Do I Begin? Coordinating Your Loved Ones Care: Dementia Education Series (April 26th, 2023)
This series is brought to you by the Westwood Public Library, Bridges® by EPOCH at Westwood Senior Advisors, and Cornerstone Caregiving and is geared towards family caregivers and caretakers of loved ones with memory loss.
Pete Bruce and Maggie Kuriakose, Bridges® by EPOCH at Westwood Senior Advisors, are the series presenters. Pete has a masters degree in counseling and is a dementia practitioner trainer and has worked for Bridges for 6 years. Pete has been working with clients and families for over 25 years.
