June Social Media Toolkit:

This Pride Month, SCORE is spotlighting resources to support LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs and offering volunteer opportunities for experienced business owners. We have created the following toolkit for SCORE Social Media Chairs to help celebrate this observance in their local online communities.

This toolkit serves as a resource guide for participating chapters to promote SCORE services, highlight success stories from LGBTQIA-owned businesses and spread the word about the resources available to help these entrepreneurs thrive! This collection of materials includes a combination of graphics, articles, templates and even suggested copy to use throughout the month of June on your chapter’s channels.

June Social Media Updates:

Beware of Fake Facebook Support Notifications

Phishing is when someone tries to get access to your Facebook account by sending you a suspicious message or link that asks for your personal information. We are seeing an influx in these attempts that suggest that your chapter Facebook Page is pending deletion due to a Community Standards Violation or Intellectual Property Infringement. Please forward these emails to [email protected] and do not click links or attachments. We will investigate and determine if there is an actual account issue to be concerned about.

LinkedIn Company Page Private Messaging Coming Soon

To help organizations on LinkedIn better connect with clients, members on LinkedIn will now be able to message the admin of the page by directly clicking on the “Message” button at the top of your LinkedIn Page. LinkedIn announced that this feature started rolling out throughout the month of May and will serve as the primary call-to-action on the page (along with “follow” for non-followers of your page). At this time, SCORE HQ is still waiting for access to this feature and is in communication with SOCi about potential integration opportunities.

Live Training: How to Schedule Recurring Posts in SOCi

In our May webinar, we launched a new mini-series called SOCi Tip of the Month. This month's tip was a step-by-step on how to schedule recurring posts. There are many post types where recurring posts are applicable, such as event reminders, evergreen resources (e.g., business plan templates), success stories and more. In a live demonstration, we walked attendees through a time-saving technique to bulk schedule these posts in just a few simple clicks.

Watch the demonstration in the webinar recording.

Leveling Up as a SCORE Social Media Chair

We also explored the concept of "leveling up" as a Social Media Chair in our May webinar. We broke down the role of a social media volunteer into five general categories-- success stories, workshops, volunteer spotlights, campaign content and community engagement-- and shared tips on beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of operating within each category. This session was packed with best practices and examples and was one of our highest rated webinars to date!

Resources for End-of-Year Budget Planning

We are nearing the end of Q3 which means we only have one quarter left to spend any funds allocated to this fiscal year. Because of this, Q4 is often our highest volume period of optional, paid social media advertising campaign opt-ins! Be proactive: Explore our campaign options for client generation, workshop promotion, volunteer recruitment and more, and opt-in sooner rather than later for shorter lead times and maximum optimization.
