Celebrate National Trails Day on Florida's Adventure Coast
It's National Trails Day on June 4th! That means it's a perfect time to go outside and explore some of the fantastic trails Florida's Adventure Coast has to offer. One of our favorite places to hike is the Weekiwachee Preserve, an 11,206-acre natural area that protects the headwaters of the Weeki Wachee River. The preserve has over 20 miles of trails that wind through diverse habitats, such as wetlands, pine flatwoods, hardwood hammocks, and scrub. You can see various wildlife, like deer, otters, gopher tortoises, and bald eagles. The best part is that the preserve is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk. So what are you waiting for? Grab your backpack, water bottle, and sunscreen, and head to the Weekiwachee Preserve for a fun and healthy adventure!
