Current Events and Politics
As the outside temperature rises, topics for indoor class discussion heat up! Elections, investigations, legislation, and diplomacy are among the many items in the news at the local, national, and international levels. Edward Ginsberg's summer session of Let's Talk Current Events: Topics in the News (Course 11944) promises to tackle many important issues through stimulating conversation with open-minded, curious, and friendly news junkies, starting Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Please note that the summer classes will alternate weekly between in-person and online meeting formats.
On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Martin Flaherty will conduct his much-anticipated Supreme Court Roundup (Course 11956), analyzing the most notable cases from this year's Supreme Court term. The coming week's yet-to-be-announced decisions will undoubtedly feature prominently in his presentation. The countdown is on as we await word of the rulings. Ample time will be reserved for audience Q&A. Class will be recorded and distributed to enrolled students for up to one week of viewing post-lecture. Register in advance to receive the video, even if you are unable to attend the live session.
