Presiding Bishop Curry hospitalized
Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was recently hospitalized and is currently under treatment and monitoring. Please join us as we pray for his recovery.
Bishop Curry’s travel calendar has been suspended for June. As soon as Bishop White receives more information about his planned visit to the diocese in July, we will share that with the diocese.

Pride Festival Volunteers
The Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky will take part in the Kentuckiana Pride Festival on June 17th.
This year, along with joining the Pride Parade, we will have a booth at the Festival. The parade begins at noon and walkers are asked to meet at 11 a.m. at Guaca Mole Restaurant, 900 East Market St., at 11:00. The Booth will be open from noon to 10 p.m. Please sign up here to work one or more hours in the booth. Be sure to bring printed information about your congregation and its ministry to be shared at the Booth. |

New 2023 Dismantling Racism Training dates
Additional 2023 Dismantling Racism Training dates are now available and will be offered in two different formats: virtually via zoom as a one day session or as a one day, in-person event at various locations throughout the diocese. Important information for each format is listed below. Please carefully read the description of the event and the dates and select the program that best suits your needs and schedule.
In-person Training Days:
August 19, Our Merciful Saviour, Louisville (map link)
September 23, Christ Church, Bowling Green (map link)
October 28, St. Francis in the Fields, Louisville (map link)
The event will begin at 9:30 and end no later than 4 pm (times listed are in local times: Louisville-EST, Bowling Green-CST). Lunch will be provided as well as snacks throughout the day.
Virtual Training Day via zoom:
September 12
The virtual one day event will begin at 9:30 EST (8:30 CST). We will end no later than 3:30 EST (2:30 CST). We will have breaks throughout the day and a break for lunch.
The deadline to register for a training event will be three days before the session.
To foster optimum learning and conversation, the participant limit for each training day is 24. Please sign up early to be sure to get the time you want.

Racial Healing Commission Seeking Additional Trainers
The Racial Healing Commission is seeking additional trainers for the Dismantling Racism Program and recruiting persons who can assist with the technology for virtual meetings. Training for these positions will be provided. A small stipend will be offered. Senior High (incoming 9th-12th graders): June 18th-23rd, $550 + $33 for state sales tax
Primary (incoming 2nd-4th graders) : June 25th-29th, $450 + $27.00 for state sales tax
New Horizons (incoming 5th-6th graders) : July 9th-14th, $550 + $33 for state sales tax
Junior High (incoming 7th-8th graders) : July 16th-21st, $550 + $33 for state sales tax

Concert for the Human Family
St. Michael's in the Diocese of Lexington will be hosting a Concert for the Human Family on July 28th. "The concerts, designed to highlight a variety of musical and cultural traditions, stories, and reconciliation work, will serve as a centerpiece for deeper and more long-standing conversations around racial reconciliation “on the ground” in host communities." It’s All About Love: A Festival for the Jesus Movement
Episcopalians everywhere are invited to register to join a churchwide festival of worship, learning, community, and action July 9-12 at the Baltimore (Maryland) Convention Center.
“It’s All About Love: A Festival for the Jesus Movement” will open at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 9, with a revival worship service featuring Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. It closes at noon on Wednesday, July 12, following a festival Eucharist preached by House of Deputies President Julia Ayala Harris. The Rev. Mariama White-Hammond will preach on July 10. Stepping Up with Termaine Hicks
It is well known in the Episcopal Church and beyond: Education for Ministry (EfM) changes lives. Most of the more than 120,000 people who have participated in the four-year theological education program will agree. Many will have a tale of transformation to share. Few will have a story as heart-wrenching as Termaine Hicks’s. Framed for rape in 2001 at the age of 26, Hicks was falsely incarcerated for nearly two decades. Termaine Hicks is the keynote speaker at the 2023 Education for Ministry Conference, sponsored by the School of Theology at the University of the South. Hicks’s keynote speech will take place on June 21, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. CDT. The presentation is free and open to the public and will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. Drag Me to Church
Faithfully striving to follow the promises we have made in our Baptismal Covenant to see Christ in all persons and respect the dignity of every human being, as well as Calvary’s long tradition of being a welcoming and inclusive parish for all of God’s children, Calvary is happy to host “Drag Me to Church: A Gospel Drag Show” on Friday, June 30. A reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. with the performance at 7:00. This performance will be the culmination of this year’s Pride Celebration. It is free, open to the public, and family-friendly. All donations will go to support the Calvary Food Ministry, which has provided food for an average of 300 people weekly since the onset of COVID. Here is a flier with details. |

Do you know a parishioner that is headed to college this fall who could benefit from a scholarship grant? The Woodcock Foundation funds grants annually to each parish for $1,250 for the fall semester. The parish simply designates the recipient and the Woodcock Foundation handles the rest. Kohler Family Scholarships Available for College Students
The Kohler Family Scholarship Committee meets bi-annually to review applications for students requesting financial assistance to attend college, university or vocational programs. Applicants must be baptized and be a member of a church in the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. The applicant must show financial need, academic promise, be baptized, and be willing to provide additional supporting information as stipulated on the Application.
Applications are accepted up to June 15th for fall semesters, and up to November 15th for spring semesters. Click here for more information.
