ASA British Virgin Islands Flotilla
Nov. 30. - December 10, 2023
We're lovin' the summer weather, but our sights are already set on the fall and our next flotilla!
Stay warm inside and out - Join us for an ultimate bucket list adventure and sail away with us in the British Virgin Islands! The stunning 55+ islands and cays that comprise the BVI’s have two fantastic assets; accessibility and virgin beauty. Known for years a "sailor's paradise", cruising sailors were among the first to realize this truly was one of nature's little secrets.
We've been leading the flotilla to these islands for more than 10 years and every year we discover new favorites and re-unite with old ones. We are accepting deposits for the trip and already have some spaces reserved.

February 17 - March 2, 2024
Visit the islands of Tahiti, Bora Bora, Raiatea, Taha'a, and Huahine! It is only in sailing between the blue ocean and turquoise lagoons in the shadow of the majestic volcanic peaks as the ancient Polynesians did in their outrigger canoes, that one realizes the full majesty and magic of Tahiti! The four major islands have ancient volcanic centers which rise from lovely calm lagoons ringed by outlying reefs, also known as atolls. These coral atolls have sandy beaches and offer a stunning view back toward volcanic those volcanic ranges!
ASA certifications will be available (ASA 103, 104, & 114). The cost is $300 per certification plus the cost of the textbook and shipping.

Three, Two, One, GO! Put your week end into high gear and come over to South Coast Sailing Adventures and join us in the annual Rum Race Series! The Rum Race Series is an annual event sponsored by the Galveston Bay Cruising Association and Cruzan Rum. The races are intended for fun, informal racing. They are open to sailors of all ages and experience levels, and are a great opportunity for anyone to get some sailing experience in a competitive environment.
The total course length is 11 nautical miles.

June 24-25, 2023
The regatta will be held offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. The start will be at the Galveston jetties. The race begins on Saturday afternoon and finishes on Sunday. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in improving their advance sailing skills. The race will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

We are always looking for qualified sailors to be club skippers for club events like the upcoming Day Sails on Saturdays and Sundays. If you would like to volunteer to be a skipper for club events, please respond via email with the boats that you feel comfortable skippering to be added to the list.

Harvest Moon Regatta
A Howling Good Time
October 26-29, 2023
Founded in 1987, the annual Harvest Moon Regatta event has grown from just under 20 boats to over 200. The 150-nautical mile race begins at the Pleasure Pier in Galveston and follows the Texas coast to Port Aransas over the course of 2 days and 2 nights, when the night sky is dominated by the beautiful harvest moon. It's the perfect opportunity to gain offshore sailing experience or add to your sailing certifications.
We are offering ASA 103/104 Combo (Basic Coastal Cruising & Bareboat Chartering) and ASA 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) during this event!
