Dear CIM supporters,
We are looking forward to hosting the 15th Annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend, starting this Thursday! MIM workshop enrollment is strong with 30 teens, 10 children and nearly 100 adults signed up to learn from our visiting artists.
We'd love to see you out at the Kickoff Celebration at the Urban Growler and the Great Session Experience at the Junction. You won't want to miss the master artists concert on Saturday night at 7:30pm at the Celtic Junction Outdoor Stage. Come early for dinner from the Anchor Fish & Chips food truck, and a refreshing beverage! Purchase your tickets today!
I recommend reading all the way through this newsletter to see what's coming up this month, including performances this weekend at the Flint Hills Children's Festival, Grand Old Day and Metronome.
And don't forget that summer term starts up on June 12th. See our course catalog below for details.

WELCOME CIM SUMMER INTERNS | |
|
Mattie Snyder
Preparing to head into her senior year at Luther College, Mattie Snyder is excited to be working as a summer intern at CIM. Starting cello when she was five, music was a large part of Mattie’s life as she grew up in Bemidji. She is a current member of the Symphony Orchestra at Luther College as she pursues bachelor degrees in Cello Performance and Visual Communication. It was not until late high school that Mattie learned about Celtic music, but it has already woven its way deep into her heart. She has found it challenging but rewarding to play in this genre as a classically-trained cellist.
Through Mattie’s internship at CIM this summer, she will be putting her communication studies into action as she helps with the execution of Minnesota Irish Music Weekend, Youth Summer Camps, and the CIM's involvement at the Irish Fair of Minnesota. She is very excited to spend the summer amidst so many Irish music enthusiasts and participate in the life of CIM.

Carmen Pasquerella
Carmen Pasquerella is heading into her second year of studying Music Eduction at the University of Minnesota. She has studied Irish music at the Center for Irish Music, dance at O'Shea Irish Dance since she was 6. She began classical flute at 10.
This summer, Carmen is putting her education and administrative skills into action as the Minnesota Irish Music Weekend's Youth Program Coordinator.
A junior instructor this past year, Carmen will also teach whistle at the CIM summer camps and provide musical leadership for other programs throughout the summer.
