Board Message from Rev. Kathy Harwood-Long

Dear colleagues and friends in our work of Unity, and for unity:

“The affairs of business will drag on forever. Do not delay the search for truth.” (Milarepa, a Buddhist mystic)

Our Unity movement is in deep conversation and contemplation for the potential of merging our two distinct organizations: Unity Headquarters, and Unity Worldwide Ministries. The latest synthesis of annual reports regarding Unity ministries worldwide, submitted so far (2024 data), is helpful, shocking, and clarifying. I do hope you will take time to look at it: https://www.unityuwm.org/annual-reports. I believe it is Michael Beckwith who stated: pain pushes, and vision pulls. There is a tension in our Unity movement that I believe is directly related not to the content of what we teach, but the vision of us that is always greater. Your discernment, vision of Unity, collective consciousness participation, is essential. It always has been, and it is so now.

Regional Rep & Outreach Ambassador Notes:

Have you been keeping up with the Town Hall meetings? They have been really interesting and it's obvious that many individuals are putting a lot of time and energy into making this acquisition (It's no longer a merger due to tax purposes) a reality. While there are still many unanswered questions, there are some excellent questions coming in from the field. There will be a lot more conversation about unity within Unity. Stay tuned. The vote will take place at the annual meeting of the membership online Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm CENTRAL.

The Leadership Zoom scheduled for June 19 at 3:00 is cancelled due to conference. The Minister's Zoom is Thursday, June 5th at 2:00. Here is the zoom link:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89467346371. This gathering is for ministers and spiritual leaders. There's a lot to be said for like minds coming together. Whether you're new to ministry or have been years in the field, there are great ideas to be shared and amazing support from our colleagues.

Mark your calendars for our fall conference in Moline, IL September 22-24. We have lined up some great speakers and music and you can get lots of CEU credits while having fun.

If you need assistance or support in your ministry, please contact me. I may not have all the answers, but I know where to find them. Sometimes it helps just to have a kindred ear.

I look forward to connecting with you in person at one of the conferences!

Blessings,

Rev. Diane

THIS MONTH'S SOCIAL MEDIA CALLS ARE A SERIES OF 2 CALLS, TWO WEEKS APART

"The Who and Why of Your Ministry" Led By Sherry Wells of Tech Alchemy and from Friends of Unity, Michigan.

From the UWM Ministry Packet, this training will answer the question:

"What demographic resonates with your ministry?"

In this two-part training, we’ll use the Power of Will to discern both the essence of our message and who it naturally resonates with.

By focusing on those we are truly meant to reach, we create sacred space for real transformation. Clarity allows us to meet people where they are, speak to their personal spiritual path, and connect heart to heart with the message they most need to hear.

See the links above.

CONGRATULATIONS TO UNITY OF THE NORTH SHORE FROM THE GREAT LAKES REGION!

This just in from Rev. Kurt Condra:

What a joy it is to invite you to Encore: The Journey Continues—a celebration honoring 75 years of Unity on the North Shore!

Saturday, June 14 • 4–7 p.m.

Unity on the North Shore | 3434 Central Street, Evanston, ILLINOIS

Whether you’ve been part of our community for decades or are reconnecting after some time away, your presence matters deeply. This celebration is for you—a beloved part of our unfolding story.

For 75 years, UNS has been a sacred space for spiritual awakening, transformation, and community. We’ve walked with one another through life’s changes with courage, faith, and love. Now, as we prepare for a bold new chapter—relocating to a more accessible and sustainable home—we gather to honor our past and energize our future.

Here’s what’s in store:

Encore: The Journey Continues – A 90-minute multimedia performance featuring live storytelling, music, video, and playful food-themed sketches that bring our decades to life—from the 1950s to today.

Special Guests – Including Rev. Pat Williamson and other cherished voices from our history.

Appetizers & Desserts – Nostalgic bites from every decade and time to connect with old friends and new.

We’ll laugh, reminisce, and be inspired by the legacy we share—and the future we’re co-creating.

Click here to Reserve your spot today and join us in this once-in-a-generation celebration of spirit, history, and community.
