ACF-OCS-CSBG-DCL-25-10: Third Continuing Resolution Funding Release FY25

On May 22, 2025, the Office of Community Services (OCS) announced the release of federal Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) regular block grant funding to Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) grant recipients. This funding is provided under a Continuing Resolution (CR) called the Full Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025, Pub. L. 119-4, signed into law on March 15, 2025.

This release reflects the total allocation for FY25, including the 1 percent set aside for the Secretary's authority.

Under this law, CSBG grant recipients and CSBG eligible entities may continue to apply the higher eligibility rate of 200 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) for services provided through September 30, 2025, assuming no superseding legislation from Congress is enacted before that date.

While the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) has not yet been released, OCS is sharing information now to prepare for the upcoming grant cycle. OCS plans to share updates and resources throughout the grant competition periodically.

Stay Connected - VACAP Federal Update Calls

We encourage all agencies to stay connected with the bi-weekly VACAP federal update calls. These calls provide an opportunity for agencies to connect with VACAP and OEO on the latest federal updates. OEO will issue guidance and interpretation on any new federal information issued in a timely manner. We are coordinating with VACAP to ensure consistent messaging on all new federal information.

Hosting a community event, have a story to tell? We would love to help spread the word! Please reach out to Gail.Doyle@dss.virginia.gov to share!
