Jupiter changes signs each year, and sometimes it stays in one sign for a year and at other times, it moves through a sign quickly advances to the next sign, and then retrogrades back into the previous sign where it goes direct and still manages to stay in that sign for 11-13 months, even if it is "interrupted" for a time (as in the sidereal zodiac this year). As we see above Jupiter changes signs (ingresses in both tropical and sidereal zodiacs), so whether you follow tropical or sidereal zodiac, you will feel even subtly the changes that Jupiter brings as it moves into a different part of your chart.
This year, Jupiter goes through tropical Cancer for almost 13 months. On the other hand, Jupiter goes through sidereal Gemini in 11 months, with a short foray into Cancer between October 17-December 6, 2025. As usual, every year Jupiter will retrograde for 4 months, this time from November 11, 2025 through March 11, 2026. We look at Jupiter retrograde later in the year as well as in my Next Six Months Webinar that you can sign up for.
In this newsletter, rather than focus on what Jupiter's new sign may mean for the world, since the signs are very different depending on the zodiac that you use, I will focus on what it means for your chart, in terms of Jupiter's meaning and the area of your chart it will travel through. So what makes the ingress of Jupiter into sidereal Gemini or tropical Cancer important, is how it affects you.
Wherever Jupiter is positioned is an area where you can expand your horizons, create opportunities, and experience lucky circumstances. It brings abundance, prosperity, but sometimes exaggeration meaning you may aim too high. It is good to always aim high, but to do it realistically otherwise you can get lost in what you want to happen, but not focus on how you make it happen.
On the negative side, it could lead to indulgence and waste in the area where it is positioned, mostly because Jupiter sees the big picture, and wants everything to be large and exaggerated. In order for Jupiter to do its best work, try to focus on taking the larger vision that you have and transforming it into something structured and productive. Whichever house Jupiter transits is an area where you will expand, and one that will make you happy, feel positive, and fill you with optimism. This still is in effect even when other planets are in more difficult places, and especially when it retrogrades for 4 months, as it does every year, as long as you keep your eyes on the prize. Jupiter retrograde only slows things up but does not obliterate and destroy. But that is for later in the year.
Oftentimes, even if Jupiter can bring opportunities and optimism to the house where it travels, remember that if you plan something and are too optimistic, you can sometimes apply less effort, as you may think that things will simply fall into place without trying. Do your best not to move in that direction, since Jupiter can waste opportunities if you are not savvy enough to notice them and take advantage of them. My first astrology teacher used to say that Jupiter will not simply make opportunities appear, but will allow you to recognize opportunities when they show up, or create them for yourself when it is the perfect time and place to do so.
Think about the zodiac you use. If you use a tropical zodiac, then look at the house or houses that Cancer occupies. If you use a whole sign house system, then it will only occupy one house and Jupiter will be there for one year. If you use an unequal house system (quadrant houses), then Cancer may take up two houses, and if so, you can see when Jupiter transits each house including the time it retrogrades. If Cancer is intercepted in a quadrant house system then Jupiter will only stay in one house until it moves into Leo next year.
If you use a sidereal zodiac, then Gemini and Cancer will each occupy one house, and you can see which area is being affected each time Jupiter enters and retrogrades back into each sign. In either case Jupiter will be in Gemini until October 17th and will be in Cancer from October 17-December 6, and then back into Gemini. In each case and whichever zodiac you use, the affairs of the house or houses where Jupiter travels through will be energized and expanded.
Say goodbye to the affairs of the house that sidereal Taurus or tropical Gemini occupied, and say hello to the affairs of the house that sidereal Gemini occupies or tropical Cancer will occupy beginning June 9th.

The bhava (house) in your chart where Gemini is placed is the area where you may experience abundance, optimism, opportunity, expansion, and prosperity but also should watch out for indulgence, overdoing, and being unrealistic about what you need to do to accomplish your goals. If you do not know which bhava Gemini occupies, look at your lagna (ascendant), or Moon, or even your Sun (if you do not know your ascendant or Moon), and just count from there. Other bhavas that will feel the effects of Jupiter include the places that Jupiter aspects, which include the bhavas that Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius occupy. Since Mercury is the dispositor or ruler of Gemini, the house where Mercury is placed in your natal chart can also receive the benefit of Jupiter's transit.
General descriptions for bhavas (houses) are as follows:
