Online – Parentage Test Requests
When ordering parentage verification tests using your Online system, please be sure that both parents have had a SNP profile completed. The reason being one parent may be a mature animal that only has a
microsatellite test result on file.
When this is the case, the CSA staff should be ordering the test on your behalf. The reason this is important is you must send one sample to Neogen Canada for SNP testing, and a separate sample must be sent to Quantum Genetix in Saskatoon, SK. Both tests would require a separate application form to go along with the samples you obtain.
The end result - your parentage results are not delayed as one parent must be qualified using SNP testing and the other parent must be qualified using Microsatellite testing.
