Note from Robin
As I prepare to step into a new role at theNew Canaan Land Trust, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the time I’ve spent with each of you. Over the past three years, I have cherished the connections we've built and the experiences we've enjoyed together. Whether it was taking members on rides, joining the Book Talk Group discussion, organizing coffees, exploring museums, or simply sitting down for a meal—each moment has been a reminder of the warmth and community that makes Staying Put so special.
While I may be moving a bit further out of town—up on Valley Road at the Land Trust’s Grupes House—I’m still very much a part of New Canaan. Though my work will take me in a new direction, my appreciation for this organization and its wonderful members remains unchanged. A special thank you to Gina Blum, Kate Brambilla, and of course to Kim Herr, for stepping in to lead with kindness and dedication. I know that Staying Put is in great hands.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at theNew Canaan Land Trust anytime—whether you just want to reconnect or are interested in exploring a preserve together. I look forward to seeing you out on the trails and around town.

Hello from Kate
I hate to admit this, but I am a bit of a fortune cookie/ bumper sticker/ armchair expert dilettante when it comes to moving through difficult situations. I have a tendency to lean on those quippy expressions that probably fall under the "wellness" umbrella in order to head off any unfair judgement, downward spiraling, or bottled-up anger. Someone cut me off on the road? Rather than lean into the simmering road rage I tell myself, "grace and space, Kate, grace and space". Maybe that person is running late to pick up their kid from school (been there), or maybe they have a million other things on their mind (also, been there). Adelaide has a rough day at school with a friend, "the challenges are what expand us", to which Adelaide inevitably says, "what does that even mean!?" Honestly, I'm not sure, but it does help settle an otherwise ignited nervous system. Or she is struggling with school work, "progress, not perfection". And when a beloved and highly respected work colleague takes on a tremendously exciting new role, "flow and grow, Kate, flow and grow". Because really, in all these situations, it's not about me, it's about where other people are in their lives and being aware and sensitive to the fact that change is inevitable (see, there's another expression you might find on the inside of a piece of Dove Chocolate). And so to Robin who is moving on, to Kim who is returning, I can't picture a better mantra for all of us than "flow and grow". And to the Range Rover that cut me off? Read a tea bag every once in a while.
