MWMC Budget Adopted for 2025-26

At the June Commission Meeting, the MWMC adopted its budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26, which will take effect on July 1st. The budget includes a modest increase to account for inflation and to continue funding operations and projects necessary to meet our regulatory requirements. It also includes a five percent rate adjustment, which will result $1.60 increase per month for the average customer. Additionally, the MWMC is projected to bring approximately $1.6 million from its sale of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), making the RNG facility an important asset to continue offsetting rates.

Pretreatment Compliance Awards Sent to Local Industries

Every year, the regional industrial pretreatment team celebrates local businesses and industries that have helped prevent pollution by complying with their wastewater discharge permits. This includes a recognition and certificate for every regulated industry that meets their requirements for a full year, and an award for any industry that has reached a five-year milestone. In 2024, two Eugene businesses hit the five-year mark, and one Springfield business reached ten years of safe wastewater practices. The industrial pretreatment teams works to educate and provide oversight to businesses in the MWMC service area to ensure that all wastewater coming into our regional treatment plant can be 100% cleaned without interfering with our treatment process. Ultimately, it's about protecting our community and the Willamette River!
