Hearts, Minds, and Hands Around the Table
Meet the New Board of Directors
| |
The new Board of Directors for Luther’s Table met for the first time yesterday—and it was JOYOUS. We laughed. We shared stories. We listened. Since this was the first official gathering of our new board, we spent time getting to know one another—learning about the history and legacy of Luther’s Table, the visioning work that’s happened in the community over the past year, and the Spirit-led future Luther’s Table is stepping into.
This team—eight board members, two trusted advisors, and your mission developer—isn’t starting something new from scratch. They’re saying “YES” to carrying this mission into a new chapter. They’re building on the faithful work of a temporary board, an operations team, and a wider community of people who’ve spent the past year listening, reimagining, and laying the foundation. And we don’t do this work alone.
Each person serving on this board brings such beautiful gifts to the table: creativity, wisdom, hospitality, lived experience, strategic thinking, community connection, and a whole lot of heart. We couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

"Anything Helps"
This cart sat just inside the door on Saturday—carefully parked beneath the Luther’s Table sign. Inside, a cardboard sign quietly read: “homeless, anything helps.”
That Saturday, “anything” looked like a warm, free meal.
A cup of coffee.
A quiet corner to rest.
A place where no one asked questions.
A place to be still, to be safe, to just be.
This is what The Table is about.
It’s not flashy. It’s not loud.
But it’s holy ground—where each guest is greeted with care, where dignity is restored, and where nourishment takes more than one form.
Thank you for being part of a community that makes space for this kind of presence.

Stories like Nate’s remind us that Luther’s Table is more than a place — it’s a community, a refuge, a table where all are welcome.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗟𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽, 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Luther’s Table remains free and accessible only through the support of friends who believe in this kind of radical welcome. Thank you to those who have financially supported Luther's Table this year! Monthly gifts from Friends of the Table help keep this space open, warm, and filled with love. If you’re able, we’d be honored if you’d join us in giving a monthly gift.

Serving with Love, Wearing the Welcome
On many a Saturday morning, you’ll find Julie J. faithfully serving at The Table. Whether she’s brewing coffee, setting up tables, or greeting guests with a smile, Julie shows up with a generous heart and a spirit of welcome.
Julie is part of a growing team of volunteers who make Luther’s Table more than just a space—it’s a community rooted in care, presence, and radical hospitality.
And in this photo, she’s doing it all in one of our Beloved Collection T-shirts—designed in celebration of Pride and as a bold, beautiful reminder that everyone is beloved.
The Beloved Collection is part of our Luther’s Table Swag line—featuring apparel that reflects our mission and our values. These shirts don’t just say something. They stand for something. They’re a visible sign of inclusion, dignity, and love.
Julie says it best:
“It’s food that provides more than nourishment—it provides an opportunity to connect with others and remind them they are a valued part of our community.”
Wearing this shirt is one way to say:You belong. You matter. You are loved.
Support the Mission. Wear the Welcome.

Life-Saving Support at the Table
We are thrilled to share some amazing news—Luther’s Table has been awarded an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), cabinet, and pediatric pack through the Medic One Foundation’s Community AED Grant!
This generous gift ensures that as we reopen our space with a renewed mission to offer nourishment for mind, body, and spirit, we’re also prepared to care for our neighbors in moments of urgent need. Many of the people who gather at Luther’s Table—especially during our upcoming weekly community meals—face health vulnerabilities and barriers to care. Thanks to Medic One Foundation, we now have the tools to respond when every second counts.
We’re honored to be one of six organizations across Western Washington selected for this life-saving support, and we give thanks for the Medic One Foundation’s incredible commitment to public safety and equitable access to emergency preparedness.
Together, we’re building a table where all are welcome—and all are cared for.

Workshop: Developing Your Team for Success
Tuesday, June 24 | 9:00AM-10:00AM
| Developing Your Team for Success is a powerful workshop designed to equip leaders with actionable strategies to grow leadership potential from within and ignite your team by creating a culture where leaders are made, not just discovered. By creating a secure environment where team members feel safe to take risks, organizations can unlock untapped potential and inspire growth. I’ve witnessed the moment when a hesitant team member realized they had what it takes to lead, and there’s nothing more rewarding than being part of that transformation. All are welcome on Tuesday, June 24 from 9-10am to unlock the door to success. | | |

Your Generosity Blows us away!
We continue to be blown away by the generosity of this community — not just in financial gifts (which are vital to keeping Luther’s Table open and sustainable), but in all the ways you’ve shown up to support this mission. From sharing our posts and getting the word out, inviting friends to various events, volunteering at The Table, offering your passions and skills in either leading events or with the maintenance and upkeep of the building, and by donating much needed items that help make this space more welcoming so that our funds can go to other needs — we genuinely thank you.
Special thanks to our friends who donated a water dispenser, snacks for Open Mic, electrical support, and time to help clean and prep our space this month. You’re helping build something truly beautiful.

- A mountable flat screen TV to support meeting rentals.
- Tooth brushes for the Take-what-you-need Pantry - any dentists out there??

Whether you give financially, donate a needed item, or lend your time and skills — it all helps create a space for everyone.

Friends of the Table – We’re Almost Halfway There!
We’re so encouraged to share that 15 people have already said “yes” to becoming Friends of the Table, committing to monthly giving that helps sustain the mission of Luther’s Table. These generous supporters are helping keep the lights on, the doors open, and the welcome wide — making sure that everything we offer remains free and accessible to all.
We’re looking for just 5 more friends to help us reach the halfway point toward our goal of 40 monthly supporters.
Would you consider becoming a Friend of the Table by giving any amount that’s meaningful for you? Whether it’s $5, $15, or $50/month — your presence at the table matters. Your gift helps create moments of connection, creativity, nourishment, and healing — for neighbors, families, artists, and everyone who gathers here. Because this place matters.
And it’s made possible by people like you.
Pull up a chair. Be a Friend of the Table.
