From the Director's Desk
May seemed to pass by in the blink of an eye. Recent events have reminded us all how important it is to slow down, cherish our loved ones, and appreciate each day we are given.
Here at the office, we’ve been keeping busy with our day-to-day work while also gearing up for upcoming community events, including preparations for the 4th of July.
We also want to share the incredible success of Stuff the Pantry. Thanks to the generosity of our community and the dedication of more than 25 volunteers, we collected and donated over 3,000 pounds of food and supplies. Donations and funds were distributed evenly among the Geary County Food Pantry, Konza Community Health Center, JC Pregnancy Center, and Clover Cabinet, helping support critical needs across our community. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this effort such a success.
On a personal note, I’m excited to share that I’ll be taking a vacation to Canada—my first time leaving the country! During that time, the office will be closed from July 3rd through July 16th.
When we return, we’ll jump right into two of our favorite annual initiatives: Stuff the Bus and Adopt-A-Backpack, helping ensure local students are ready for the upcoming school year.
And don’t forget—join us for a fun night on July 17th for our 21+ Skate Night! All proceeds will benefit United Way JCGC’s Stuff the Bus and Adopt-A-Backpack programs.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our work and our community!
