Welcome to the June 2026 edition of Community & Club Connections, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area’s (BGCAA) monthly newsletter! Stay up to date on the latest news about our programs, upcoming events, and how we’re empowering youth in academics, leadership, health & well-being, and life & workforce readiness.

2025 Impact Report

Our 2025 Impact Report is here! This report highlights the progress we've made over the past year, the impact across our Clubs, and how we’re continuing to advance our mission and vision for the future. 

Here’s a snapshot of our reach in 2025: 

✨ Over 6,500 registered members 

✨ Nearly 19,000 total youth served 

✨ 27 locations across the Austin area, including Manor 

Behind every number is a young person discovering their potential, building confidence, and creating great futures. 

☀️ Great Futures Summers Camp Kicks-Off!

As we wrap up the first week of Great Futures Summer Camp, nearly 900 young people have spent their days learning, exploring, and growing across our 12 Club sites. From workforce readiness and leadership development to hands-on enrichment activities and creative projects, Club members are making the most of every opportunity this summer.

The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm we've seen this week are just the beginning. In the months ahead, youth will experience exciting field trips, discover new interests, build meaningful friendships, and create lasting memories in safe, supportive environments. We are proud to provide a summer filled with opportunities that help young people learn, lead, connect, and thrive.

🎓 Austin Graduates with Club Kids

Austin graduates with Club Kids, and this May, we proudly celebrated our Future Ready Club members at Boys & Girls Club Promotion Ceremonies! 🎓✨

Surrounded by families, mentors, and supporters, our graduating seniors and rising sixth and ninth-graders were recognized for their hard work, perseverance, and achievements. As they take their next steps toward middle school, high school, college, careers, and beyond, we know they are equipped with the skills, confidence, and character to succeed.

99% of Club seniors graduate, and 100% of surveyed seniors report a postsecondary education or military plan.

These outcomes show that targeted support, mentorship, and enrichment keep young people on track for graduation and future success.



Congratulations to these remarkable young people. The future is bright, and we can't wait to see all they accomplish. 💙

💫 Celebrating One-Year of Leadership!

One year in, and our Chief Programs Officer, Dr, LaTasha Carter, is still going full speed! Today, we’re celebrating the first anniversary of her leadership bringing energy, expertise, and vision to BGCAA. 

With her 15+ years of experience in education and non-profit leadership, Dr. Carter has hit the ground running and brought many opportunities to Club kids across Austin.  

From launching our Workforce Development Next Gen program to expanding innovative teen summer experiences and reestablishing Keystone Clubs across our organization, her leadership continues to create new opportunities for young people to learn, lead, and succeed.

We are grateful for the passion, vision, and dedication she brings to our Clubs, our youth, and the Austin community every day.

🏈 Making Big Plays this Flag Football Season!

Congratulations to Bluebonnet Elementary BGC on winning this season’s flag football championship!



This year’s flag football season brought together 18 elementary Club sites and more than 250 Club members, creating opportunities for youth to build teamwork, leadership, confidence, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. 

From exciting plays to lasting friendships, Club athletes competed with heart and represented their Clubs with pride throughout the season. We’re proud of every player, coach, and team who made this season a success. 

🏀 Webb Middle Boys & Girls Club Member Wins NBA Math Hoops Regional Championship

Nine Club members from Decker Middle, Chalmers, Webb Middle, and Burnet Middle BGC brought their A-game to NBA Math Hoops, putting their math skills, strategy, and teamwork to the test in this fast-paced, basketball-themed competition.

After three exciting rounds and a championship showdown, Zariah M. from Webb Middle BGC was crowned the champion of the 2026 NBA Math Hoops Austin Regional Tournament! 

✨Fun While Learning at McBee Elementary Boys & Girls Club

CEO Zenae Campbell visited McBee Elementary BGC to see our programs in action!

Club members stayed engaged with hands-on math and reading support, shared their Calming Corner, enjoyed snack time, and unwound with outdoor play.  

She received a tour from two young leaders, who also shared that what they enjoyed most about Clubs was making friends and having new experiences on field trips. 



It’s a great reminder that learning and fun go hand in hand at the Club! 

🏆 Club Members Celebrate the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour

Gus Garcia BGC members got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the FIFA Community Hour during the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour thanks to our partnership with Austin FC.

As the North American tour makes its way toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Club members experienced the excitement of seeing the iconic 18-karat gold FIFA World Cup™ Trophy up close and capturing the moment together.

“The fact that we got to see the trophy in person-I was really excited,” shared Club member Ricky. “It was really cool to be with my friends and see it together.”



Thanks to Austin FC, experiences like this give Club members the opportunity to explore new possibilities, connect with the world beyond their neighborhoods, and create memories that inspire future dreams.

⛳ Swinging into Great Futures: Bank of America Golf with Us Clinic

Boys & Girls Clubs was proud to be part of the Bank of America Golf with Us Clinic, where Club members had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of golf from mentors and professionals, including Board Member Jamaal Charles, who spoke and spent time encouraging and mentoring youth throughout the event.

Club members had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of golf from mentors and professionals while building confidence both on and off the course. They walked away inspired, empowered, and ready to take on new challenges as the next generation of golfers.

Plus, each participant received a free one-year Youth on Course membership through Golf with Us, opening the door to continued access to courses nationwide with $5 tee times!

👏 Volunteers in Action: Transforming Our Club Spaces

Last month, Charles Schwab volunteers visited Home Club for Beautification Day as part of their Volunteer Week. From painting benches and mopping floors, to prepping supplies for Club kids and outdoor cleanup, Schwab volunteers stepped up to help with Club needs.

🤝 A Continued Commitment to Youth Success from the Moody Foundation

We are grateful to The Moody Foundation for their continued support of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area.

Through a commitment of $150,000 per year for two years, The Moody Foundation is helping us expand opportunities for youth across Travis County, including Austin ISD and Manor ISD, supporting programs that foster academic success, leadership development, and future readiness.

Partnerships like this make a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people and families we serve.
