Our Summit Community Center near Chicago's Midway Airport opened last month and has already served thousands of neighbors seeking food assistance, social services, case management, and other essential support. | | |
Dear Friends,
In his new encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, Pope Leo XIV invites us to consider the spirituality of the “wise architect.” He is not speaking only to builders, planners, or leaders. He is speaking to all of us. Each of us has been given some part of the wall to rebuild, some corner of the city to strengthen, some human dignity to protect. The question is whether we will do our part with faith, courage, and love.
Here at Catholic Charities, we heard that call to be the "wise architect" and with the generous support of our donors, we have built the Summit Community Center to respond to Pope Leo XIV's call to cultivate relationships, and to love justice and peace for the people we serve.
This is the spirituality of the wise architect: to build with God at the center and the human person at the heart of every decision. Thank you for being our partners in spreading this message to those in need.
With gratitude,
