As I prepare to pass the baton, my heart is full. Serving as President of Tri It For Life has been one of the greatest honors of my life …and the toughest. I have been stretched in ways I have never known. And for that, I am deeply grateful. I am grateful for the experience, for the national board, and for the chapter boards that trusted me even when I didn’t trust myself — your leadership, your commitment, and your belief in what’s possible when women choose to do hard things are unmatched.
I’m thrilled to announce that Marian Bergdolt of TIFL Raleigh will step into the role of 2026-2027 Vice President effective August 1,2026. Marian is an attorney by day and race coach by night, fresh off completing her latest Ironman 70.3 in May. She brings a wealth of experience, discipline, and heart to our board leadership, and I know she will help guide TIFL into an extraordinary next chapter. She is the reason we secured our very first national sponsor, USA Triathlon. She has a few other tricks up her sleeve too. Stay tuned! I am so stinkin’ excited I could SCREAM! Ok, ok, I digress…
I’m also excited (and yes, a bit overwhelmed!) to share that we have reached $13,310.06 in our 20‑Year Campaign. My esteemed co-chair, Janet Bracey, and I are so grateful. This community continues to show up in powerful ways. Even more, our reach is expanding — new communities are expressing interest in forming chapters and our Executive Director of Operations, Mallory Barlow, has been empowered to lead this growth effort. I am so proud of her and the momentum she’s building.
Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and running beside me. The future of Tri It For Life is bright, bold, and beautifully ours. I hope you enjoy this special edition.

| Introducing Marian Bergdolt, the New Vice President of the National Board! | |

As Marian contemplated retirement from her legal career in 2020 and became a Level 1 USA Triathlon certified coach, she envisioned creating a non‑profit that trained a diverse group of women to compete in triathlons. Imagine her joy upon discovering Tri It For Life—her dream organization already existed.
Tri It For Life continues to amaze Marian in the simple, powerful way it builds community through the mentor–athlete relationship. As Marian learns more about the organization, her goal is to strengthen the connection between the chapters and the National Board while preserving its core mission of supporting a diverse group of women through their first triathlon. She hopes to help expand the “Life” of TIFL—empowering mentors and volunteers to extend endurance‑sports training beyond that first finish line.
Marian is a stronger, braver, kinder, and healthier person because of her own endurance‑sports journey. The photo she shares captures a mountain climb in Nice, France during the all‑women’s Ironman World Championship in 2024 (2.4‑mile swim, 112‑mile bike, 26.2‑mile run—yes, others can do it too). It was her third Ironman, with her first completed at age 60. Marian believes it is never too late to work toward a hard goal.
Through Tri It For Life, Marian looks forward to helping all women pursue and achieve their own hard goals.
We welcome Marian as VP of National Board with a open heart and wish her the very best in achieving these goals!

We are making a call for volunteers to join a National Program Committee with the objective of designing a National 12-week training program. The programs for each of our Chapters are very similar - we simply need to capture it in a document.
