Happy Alamo Ranch Neighbors,
Hope everyone is starting off their summer well. The weather hasn't been very helpful for our outdoor events. We're rescheduling the summer bash for later since it's one of our big 5 and don't want to get rained out like last year.
I've been glad to see the multipurpose court getting so much use! There have been a lot of kids and adults hanging on the rims at the basketball court, and if they break it, the office can figure out which resident damaged it. It will be a hefty price because the company that installed it has to come fix it to be compliant with our warranty. That being said... tell your basketball enthusiasts to stop hanging on the rims. Also, we have been able to locate residents who are climbing the waterslide after hours and shutting off their key fob access. Please let your kids, renters, and others know that if they are seen letting people in and misusing community property, they will lose access for a time
We are moving our board meetings to the last Thursday of the month so it does not interfere with the POA meetings. We want residents to have the opportunity to attend all meetings that affect their property.
Speaking of property, there has been a pack of wild hogs procreating rather quickly in our area. While the association does not have an obligation to protect private property, we are looking into solutions to repel the hogs through our landscaper. We cannot place anything on residents' property, and we are not assuming the liability for hog hunting, so the board agreed that repellent was the best option, and hopefully, that is enough to get them out of this area. Repellant will be placed in HOA commonly maintained spaces by the landscaping company, and we are purchasing an extra bucket of repellent for residents to come to the office and get for free. The landscaper manager said each resident only needs a little more than a Dixie cup for a front lawn since this is a very concentrated mix. Supplies are on a first-come, first-served basis. When it is finished, the board will evaluate how effective this process is and make a decision to go further.
There is a gas pipeline being installed on Wiseman that is affecting our POA and a few houses in our HOA. We have requested information on this project, and what we know is that the project is called Camino Real Pipeline, it will run through Bexar, Medina, La Salle, and Frio Counties. It is a 10.75-inch pipe that is being installed as a Class 3 pipeline, in preparation for the future residential and commercial growth in our area. Fire Chief Rodriguez has been more helpful in being transparent about this project. He has connected the POA with the pipeline installation company, WTG Energy, and has connected them to get more information about safety, project completion dates, and more. Stay tuned for more on that.
Check out the event flyers below, and as always, if you have any questions/comments, please feel free to reach out to me.
