Opening Prayer
27. For Social Justice
See also Various Occasions no. 21.
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart [and especially the hearts of the people of this land], that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Book of Common Prayer, 823

Vocation Hub Profile Orientation
Guided by a team of diocesan transition leaders, Episcopal Church Center staff has launched a new platform to better serve the needs of people and communities in transition. Vocation Hub replaces the OTM Ministry Portfolio. Developed by Church Center staff, this new platform is designed to evolve alongside the needs of the church. Vocation Hub offers a range of new features to assist both candidates and communities in discovering their next call.
Craig Dressler, Ministry Network Specialist, will host orientation sessions for members of Province V. These sessions will focus on building candidate/individual profiles and will highlight the search features available within Vocation Hub.
There are two opportunities to attend this orientation:
We look forward to seeing you!

Fall 2026 Campus Ministry Cohort: From Chasing Relevance to Encountering Resonance
Purpose: To equip and prepare worshiping communities to engage Institutions of Higher Learning in their local ministry context. IHLs include community colleges, trade schools, professional schools, colleges and universities.
Vision: What would it look like for TEC worshiping communities to embody a way of keeping evangelism and discipleship, outreach and spiritual formation deeply intertwined as we live out our corporate life together in the world? How might our understanding of ministry alongside emerging generations be transformed when we learn to repent of seeing college students and young adults as resources that can make the church youthful and relevant again, and instead, receiving them as fellow children of God that we encounter and learn from in resonant relationship through Jesus Christ?
Who: Congregational Leaders (lay and clergy) interested in sharing in Christ's ministry on campus.
What's Included:
- 6 Interactive Zoom Gatherings on Thursday Evenings, (9/24, 10/8, 10/22, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3 from 7:30-9 pm ET / 6:30-8 pm CT ).
- These gatherings will include:
- Best Practices for engaging students on campus and welcoming them into the life of the church.
- Training & Resources focused on embodied, contextual approaches to hospitality, evangelism, and discipleship.
- Practical Steps for building trusting relationships with all IHL Stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, & alumni).
- Breakout Rooms for sharing, processing, & celebrating what we are learning along the way.
- Between Gatherings:
- You will be given tools and tasks to accomplish together with your team & report back to the cohort.
- Access to our Cohort Substack to access resources, ask questions, and share ministry experiences.
- 4 Monthly Coaching Sessions with Province V's Campus Ministry Developer (can be utilized in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027).
Cost: FREE to worshiping communities inside Province V! Congregations from outside the province can join for a fee.
Registration Deadline: You can wait until the last minute (September 23), but it would be helpful to reach out to Eric if you are considering participating!
Have Questions?
Please email Province V's Campus Ministry Developer, Eric Richey.

Leadership Coaching Project
In a world that often asks leaders to react, perform, and endure, the call of Ephesians invites something deeper: to “clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” Coaching becomes one way we practice putting on that new self. It is a space where leaders are invited to listen for God’s shaping presence within their own lives, to grow in clarity and courage, and to align their leadership more fully with the holy work already unfolding in and around them.
w
Coaching is a dialogue between a coach and an individual, group, or team to find creative ways to solve challenging problems or improve team performance on key initiatives.
The coach's role is to draw out expertise through inquiry, curiosity, and challenges so that clients can stretch into their best selves.
Lay leaders, deacons, priests, and bishops are all invited to consider coaching. The focus on coaching will always be generated by the coachee; the coach is a partner who listens deeply and asks powerful questions to help the coachee set attainable and timely goals.

The Feast of Creation and the Revised Common Lectionary
There is big ecumenical news this year, and it is creation care news. The World Council of Churches, together with the Consultation on Common Texts, have created and approved a set of lectionary readings to celebrate a new feast day on the Christian calendar – The Feast of Creation in Christ, to be celebrated on the first Sunday of September each year.
What does this mean? How big is this moment in the life of the church? Will you be seeing these readings soon in a lectionary near you? How is such a feast to be celebrated?
Come join the conversation about this moment with the Rev. Jerry Cappel, who will review the history of how we got here and explore the selected texts for the three-year lectionary cycle. If you wish to prepare for this conversation, visit: https://www.feastofcreation.com/.
Rev. Cappel is the Environmental Network Coordinator for Province IV of the Episcopal Church, and President of the Center for Deep Green Faith.

The Jordan Project
The Jordan Project will ignite new life and innovation into women-led rural and small-town congregations. This project serves the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and warmly welcomes priests from The Episcopal Church. Pastors and leaders from their congregations will explore their congregations’ rapidly changing social and cultural contexts, gain clarity about their values and mission, and draw on Christian theological practices and traditions to adapt their ministry to the demands of their changing contexts. Pastors serving multi-point settings can decide how this project is launched in one or more congregations served. With this knowledge and the skills to engage, pastors and their congregational leaders will be prepared to lead thriving congregations that experience a renewal of anticipatory joy, an ethos of “Why not? Let’s give it a try!” and personal, communal, and public witness to the love of God found in Jesus that will thrill the heart again.
More information and registration. Registration is open until June 1
A companion program is also available for all genders: The Moses Project

Iconography Retreat
December 8-13, 2026
We are thrilled to invite you to join us at Bellwether Farm for an Iconography Retreat.
The art of making icons. An iconographer who aspires to make a theological statement may be said to “write” an icon. The term also refers to the whole history and tradition of the Christian use of icons. A number of conventions of iconography have been maintained, such as the frontal position, inverse perspective, and elongated and somber features. This is the style of iconography defended by the Seventh Ecumenical Council of 787. The term also refers to the entire planned scheme of pictorial representations in a church building. In this sense, it is possible to consider the iconography of a cathedral or a great chapel. (https://www.episcopalchurch.org/glossary/iconography/)
Led by Iconographer, Catherine Harrison and The Rev. Meghan Carlson of St James Episcopal Church in Wooster Ohio. Their pictures and bios.

Wear Orange Sunday:
Gun Violence Prevention Resources
Sunday, June 7, 2026
Gun violence touches every community, every family, and every person of faith. Wear Orange Sunday is a national day of remembrance and resolve, observed each year around the anniversary of the shooting death of Nijaih Pendleton. Wearing orange on this day is a simple, visible act of solidarity. The prayers gathered here go deeper, inviting the whole community to name the grief, hold the hope, and recommit to the work of peace. (Source: Diocese of Missouri).

What does your congregation know about your endowment?
For many churches, the annual meeting may be the only time the congregation hears about the endowment at all. People may know the fund exists, but not how it supports ministry, what it helps sustain, or why it matters to your church’s future.
When members understand the role the endowment plays in the life of your church, they are often more engaged in the conversations and decisions surrounding it, and more likely to give to it.
ECF’s Endowment Management team can help you think through how you communicate about your endowment and connect it to the life of your congregation.
Contact us at endowment@ecf.org to learn how we can help.
