It's time for Polski Dzien in Bremond! Start the party Friday night with the Praha Brothers. Take part in the festival's first polka and waltz dance contest. Saturday gets underway with one of the most colorful parades in Texas. Music all day long with Jim Mazurkiewicz & Friends, Jodie Mikula Orchestra, and Brian Marshall. Great food, arts & crafts vendors (buy some pickles!), and Saturday night street dance with Gordon Collier Band.

Church picnic alert: Granger - Fritz Hodde/Fab 6 and Ennis Czech Boys...Plum - Holub Polka Band...Lyons - Chris Rybak

More great music: Friday - Fritz Hodde/Fab 6 and Scooter Dubec/Sterling Country at Lodge 29 in Taylor. Saturday - Glen Collins/The Alibis playing a free dance at Lodge 18 in Elgin...Bob Suttie & Mike Gest celebrate summer at Liederkranz Hall in Houston...Ennis Czech Boys playing a free dance at Star Hall in Seaton (not Sefcik Hall as I had mistakenly said in the TPN listing). It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the children's sermon.  All the children were invited to come forward.

One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat down, the pastor leaned over and said, "That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?"

The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone, "Yes, and my mom says it's a bitch to iron."
