Project Connect in Sunnyslope Helps Many in Need

Fifty four volunteers provided assistance in serving 173 individuals experiencing homelessness at Project Connect in Sunnyslope on June 15th. Several groups provided volunteers, including AmeriCorps Vistas from the Area Agency on Aging, Valley of the Sun United Way, and ASU Action Nexus.

On behalf of HSC and collaborating partners who provided a range of holistic services at the event, we extend a special thanks to SRP for donating over 200 heat relief kits, the City of Phoenix for a hydration station with over 200 thermal water canisters, and the staff at Sunnyslope Family Services Center.

TPI Composites Donates

Office Furniture to HSC

TPI Composites, a Scottsdale-based manufacturer of composite wind blades for sustainable energy, recently donated an assortment of office furniture to HSC. Donated items included a much needed, large conference room table and chairs, several glass white boards and numerous small tables and chairs. All of this furniture helps HSC operate more efficiently. And with the upcoming renovations planned for several spaces on the Campus, these items will help transform the way we work to better serve our clients. We are very grateful for TPI Composites and their support of HSC!

The Next ThirstAid Donation Drop-off

Event is Saturday, July 1st

Summer heat relief is well under way at the HSC. Campus partners will distribute at least 100,000 bottles of water per month through September to help clients stay hydrated and healthy. The next bottled water donation drop-off of the season is Saturday, July 1st from 9 am to noon. It’s easy: You pull up at 15th Avenue & Harrison Street, and staff will remove the donations from your vehicle. We also welcome travel-sized toiletries, summer clothing, shoes, new men's/women's underwear, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm. For more information or to schedule a drop-off on a different day, please email [email protected] or call us at 602-282-0849.

A big thank you to Campus partner Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) who is co-hosting the event with HSC. Collaboration in action!
