Enhanced COVID-19 measures; requirements for face coverings/masks and social distance

Dear Homeowners,
On June 17, following COVID-19 case increases and hospitalizations, Governor Doug Ducey announced enhanced actions to contain the spread of the virus, including how to protect Arizona’s most vulnerable residents. The announced actions build on Arizona’s substantial efforts to boost testing, expand contact tracing, secure personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care and frontline workers, fast-track resources to the most affected areas, and more.   Click here to read the Governor’s press release from June 17 . In addition, Friday afternoon Pima County issued a resolution for use of face coverings/masks to be worn in most public settings. Click here to view the Pima County Resolution . Between June 19 and June 22, 8,947 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Arizona, a 98% increase from a week ago. Residents of Quail Creek are, in general, in the most vulnerable category, and it is important that we notify you on the action we took over the weekend and what is expected when visiting the Quail Creek facilities.

How does this affect Quail Creek?
Effective immediately, the Quail Creek POA is advising you of the following:

  • Face covering/masks are required to be worn until further notice as outlined in the county resolution. Masks may be removed while using fitness equipment, engaging in strenuous exercise and while at the dining table in restaurants, but should be worn at all other times, including when you enter/exit or move around any location, this applies to both indoor and outdoor facilities.
  • Social distance of at least six feet must be exercised at all times.
  • Gatherings of 10 or more remain prohibited in any POA facility or common area. POA staff members, including our Patrol will ask you to disperse if you are seen in a gathering.

Follow CDC and other protocols
The POA Board and management staff are reviewing protocols related to COVID-19 on a daily basis, and keeping up-to-date on information, recommendations and actions from local, state and federal government sources. This is done so that we can offer appropriate guidance for the health and safety of all community residents and staff. Decisions to expand or curtail amenities and/or services is based on the ever-changing environment we are all experiencing.

The use of a face covering/mask can help stop and slow the spread of the virus, helping you, your neighbors, and community staff members as well – many of whom are in fact your neighbors. If one of the staff members in the fitness center, front desk or restaurant, for example, gets sick, it’s possible that that operation would need to be more limited or could close altogether if there are not enough staff to offer you service.

Let’s help each other stay active and well by doing what is needed to slow and stop the spread of this virus.  The time to take action is now.
Best Regards,

David Jones, Quail Creek General Manager
Quail Creek Board of Directors
