Message from President Billie Araiza
|
|
Greetings!
This is my final President’s message as we come to a close for our 2020/2021 club year and what a year it has been. During my term as President, we experienced the COVID-19 Pandemic, quarantines, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer shortages and learned to live our everyday lives wearing masks. Not to mention not being able to have a single in-person meeting the entire club year. Even with all these obstacles, we were still able to have a successful club year. We invested $62,792.80 into our community and continued to help improve the lives of women and girls.
We had to get creative about how we met online, but we managed to pull off another successful year as a club. I’m proud of our club members who hung in there and continued to carry on, despite the many obstacles we had to overcome. This shows we have some very dedicated members who are truly committed to carrying on the Soroptimist mission. It’s been an honor to serve as your club president, but I have to admit, it would have been a lot more fun if we could have met in person. I missed out on an entire year of weekly hugs.
I’m grateful for all the love and support I received from our club members. Your words of encouragement and gratitude helped me stay the course. I’m also grateful for our board members and co-chairs, who continued to carry on their duties. Through your commitment to our club, we were able to have a very productive and successful club year. This is one of those bittersweet moments, I’m relieved to have completed my year but sad that we didn’t have the opportunity to meet in person. Thank you for the cards, emails, and text messages of gratitude and appreciation. I truly appreciate every one of them and I appreciate all of you! Have a wonderful summer and enjoy going in public without having to wear a facemask.
Joyce has added a link to this eblast for my President’s Farewell Meeting. If you were unable to join us on Zoom and would like to see the video, please click my picture below. The video covers a lot of wonderful things our club has accomplished throughout the 2020/2021 club year.
With Gratitude,
President Billie
“Today, I choose to live with gratitude for the love that fills my heart, the peace that rests within my spirit, and the voice of hope that says all things are possible.”— Anonymous

SI Objectives Co-chairs
"Where are my leaders at? I need just two individuals to lead the SI Objectives committee. This is an important committee that houses membership and our Dream programs, Live Your Dream and Dream It Be It. The committee is full of strong women (we all are strong women). I need you, just two of you, to help lead this committee. Many thanks! ~Sara"
