Reminders
|
For the Remainider of the School year, please be aware of the summer temperatures and ensure that ALL students are provided with a proper hat and sunscreen for their time outside.
 Just a reminder that VPS participates in the Staples Recycle for Education Program. If you have any used printer cartridges, please deposit them in the collection box in the Dining Hall. Staples collects these printer cartridges and then proceeds go back to participating schools.

Graduation Week Reminders

Just a reminder to all parents/students of some changes in the schedule for the final days of the school year.
Thursday, June 23rd-Grade 10 students are NOT required to be at school
Graduate's Dinner (Graduates and Guests Only)
6:00pm. cocktails at Doc's6:45pm. dinner 11:30pm. pick up time for graduates
Friday, June 24th- Grade 10 students are to arrive at the school by 12 Noon.
Friday June 24th- All Students from J2- Grade 9 are to arrive at school by 9:00m wearing their #1 Uniforms

All SCHOOL DANCE-Thursday June 23rd
|
On the evening of Thursday June 23th, 2011 All Venta students are invited to gather in the music room for an all school dance to celebrate the end of the school year.
All students are invited to join the party at 8pm and can be picked up as late as 11:30pm.
This event is for ALL Venta students and we would love to see the entire student body there to celebrate the end of the school year.
Please note however: due to BOARDING space limitations, we cannot accommodate any day students in the dorms overnight.

End of the year trip-Movie + Non-Uniform
| 
The J2-Grade 9 classes will taking part in an end of the year trip to the movies on Thursday June 23rd.
Depending on their age, students have a choice of Kung Fu Panda 2, Pirates of the Carribean or the Green Lantern.
All snacks have been pre-arranged; therefore there is NO NEED to send your child with money.
Also, due to this special event, all students can come to school in non-uniform. No donations will be collected for this non-uniform day.

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
|
We are very pleased to announce that all Grade 10 students successfully completed the OSSLT. Every VPS students scored higher than the Provincial score.

| Thank You!-30th Anniversary Gala | |
A very special thank you to the entire Venta Community for their support with the 30th Anniversary Gala.
Without the generous donations and the support of everyone in attendance we could not have had such an amazing party and raised over $25,000 for the Venta Building Fund.
Thank you again to everyone who supported Venta for this fabulous event!

Video Year Books

Dear Parents,
I will be taking orders for this years video yearbook starting today. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
They will be ready for graduation night as well as at the graduation on Friday.
The Video yearbook presents hundreds of pictures (mostly taken by students and set to music) of the many events that took place at VPS this year. Plus, there is a special tribute to the grads at the end of the DVD.
I will only have enough DVD's to cover e-mail requests. I will not have any extras to sell at grad so please e-mail me soon with your request.
These DVD's will sell for $10 each. In addition, there is a special DVD video for the members of the rugby team. (grades 7 & 8). Similar to the Video yearbook, it is the rugby team's season through pictures. This videois already complete and has been presented to members of the team who were quite happy with the end product. This DVD will also sell for $10 and will only be available to order through e-mail.

In order to improve our program, all Venta Parents will be receiving a 2010-2011 parent survey by e-mail in the coming days. It is very important for all parents to take the time to complete these surveys as honestly and detailed as possible.
This survey will remain anonymous and will be used only for the purposes of improving our program.

| Congrat Jenn! | |
Congratulations to Grade 10 student, Jennifer Yarboro, for her success at dance competitions this spring where she received 2nd and 3rd overall high scores for her ballet solo. Jennifer loves to dance and has been taking dance lessons (ballet, jazz, tap and musical theatre) since she was three years old! She has been dancing competitively for 5 years. This year she achieved the Royal Academy of Dance Grade 8 Award - their top level in Ballet and is currently preparing to take the RAD Intermediate Level Vocational Exam this summer. Good luck Jenn
